You may or may not think the pistol will make it to Halo 2, but I have doubts. The main reason being that in Halo, the pistol was over-used, and no doubt the best weapon (overall) in the game. If you saw any E3 2004 videos with a SMG, you might have noticed that the targeting rectile is that same as the AR's in Halo, leaving me to believe the AR won't make it. And if they pull out one gun, they might pull more... I just hope it stays.

I'll be on my own side.

the new Battle Rifle is a combination of the AR and pistol. Its got the firing rate and of the AR and the scope and punch of the pistol.thats so cool because instead of having the pistol and AR filling up your weapon slots, you can have the Battle Rifle and shotgun or whatever other weapon

look the pistol is being replaced by the battle rifle, and the ma5b is being replaced by the SMGs it only make sense that way

I think the pistol will stay, but chances are it won't be as good. you forgot about the shotgun, no pics of that yet in halo 2

*sniffle. And and loved the pistol. It was my buddy.

The battle rifle absolutly does NOT have the fire rate of the AR and power of the pistol. That would be nuts.

Oh, and i have seen a pic of the shotgun. Dont remember where though...

The shotgun is in. As for the battle rifle, when you zoom it the bullets do as much damage as a pistol bullet, when unzoomed, it's like the AR. Diden't you notice it took only four shots zoomed to destroy the wing of the ghost, and about 10 unzoomed?

I loved the pistol, but I also hated it because of its unbalance. It is all anybody uses at a LAN party, it gets old. Plus, in reality, a pistul bullent doesnt frag, it mushrooms, so it doesn't do nearly as much damage as an assault rifle should.

well its an attempted combo of the 2.it has traits from both weapons. in the old Halo 2 pic of multiplayer, the one with the chief holding an SMG and a plasma pistol, theres a Spartan im the background who just died.he dropped a shotgun

and if the AR really used 7.62mm ammo,it wouldnt take 10 shots to kill a Grunt.it would take a 3-round burst at the most.

The pistol was in no way unbalanced, there are handguns stonger than machine guns.

the only true weapon that wasn't balanced was the fuel rod gun. its power and fire rate drives me nuts not to mention range and how it topples vehicles
(is the fuel rod gun and flamethrower in halo2?)

I think there will be human pistol but it wont have a scope maybe more power but not as acurate decent range and less ammo in a clip.

At e3 2004, they used the AR reticule for the SMG, because its a placeholder and they didnt make the real one for the SMG yet. This does not mean the AR is gone. They just didnt use the AR in e3, and didnt have the reticule for the SMG yet, so they used that one instead.

I'll be on my own side.

lets hope they make it into Halo 2 and when you use all of the Fuel Rod gun's ammo, you can activate the fail-safe and throw it at an enemy.

I can bet that the magnum oversized pistol from the books will be in halo 2 to go with the battle rifle. This pistol is 30 percent larger, is more powerful, but lacks a scope and inaccurate at long ranges.

I've never used the fuel rod cannon cause that was only in the PC version. I think it's in Halo 2. The shotgun is still in Halo 2 also. If you look at the screenshot where the guys are in the tunnels (or whatever that is, maybe a cave) where one is dual-wielding a plasma pistol and an SMG and another guy is dying, you can see that the guy dying is dropping a shotgun.

I doubt it was a placeholder. If you check out the 2003 E3 demo, you see there that a different, unique, rectile was used. I think if they needed a placeholder, they would have used that.

yeah that would be good.the increased power compensates for the lack of a scope

ok just because they use the same reticle has nothing to do with the fact that they might remove the pistol or AR.....
they dont even relate

yeah you're right now that i think about it.it was similar to the AR reticule, but not quite the same

theyre just making some bad assumptions....
there is no reason for them to remove the pistol

theres no reason to actually remove the pistol, but there are reasons to make it more balanced
