I've been looking at these forums a while now and no-ones mentioned something that I've been wondering a while.

Can you get a ghost into the sniper towers in Sidewinder. Today I finally took action and tried it for myself. It worked quite easily.

* First park the tank up so the back end is up against the sticking out bit of the base.
* Take a ghost and drive dead into it. You'll jump really high (like you always do), but it should be high enough to get the ghost into the sniper tower.

When I did this I realised that this tactic could be quite useful, let me explain.
Scenario: CTF on Sidewinder, all vehicles.

STEP 1
* Go to the enemy base and set up the tank as said above and jump into the sniper tower.
* Park the ghost so you can drive straight out of the tower (so you can jump straight out).
* Go down the ladders, take out any enemies downstairs and grab the enemy flag.
* Go back up the ladders.

It is likely that any enemies that you took out have now respawned and have assumed that you want to use the teleporters as the escape route. He will probably tell his team mates to be ready for the flag bearer running along the outside of the map (teleport escape route).

STEP 2
* Drop the flag upstairs so you can take the sniper rifle (either by swapping it with a gun or by taking all its bullets). This will stop the persuing enemy from taking you out as you flee with the flag.
* Pick up the flag and get into the ghost.
* Jump out of the sniper tower and head back towards your own base to score a point.

From all this not only will you score a point for your team but there are possibilities that it will look damn good, let me explain.

SITUATION 1:
If the persuing enemy doesn't see you jump out of the tower then he will automatically assume that you have gone through the teleport, so he'll follow. The twist to this is this: He has told his team mates that the flag bearer is coming out of the one-way teleport. If there is one of his team mates nearby then the team mate be sat there waiting with the rocket launcher or something else powerful. The persuing enemy will come through the teleport and most likely get blown away by the awaiting team mate.

This will leave them angry and bewildered about losing the flag bearer along with one player getting totalled by a team mate. Even if the awaiting enemy doesn't take out the persuing enemy they will still be left bewildered to your disappearance.

SITUATION 2:
The persuing enemy sees you jump out of the sniper tower using the ghost, yet he is powerless to stop you. Not as good as situation 1 but still leaves one team mate raging as he watches speed off into the distance.

Please give me some feedback to whether this would actually work and if so, if it would be a great tactic. Thanks for reading

Another one is you get two ghosts and block the ladders, you basically own their base. Anyone trying to get up the ladder to flip the ghost is killed as the ghost lands on them. There is another way to do this which is much more complicated, but means you don't have to bring the enemy a free tank, but I won't explain it as I am too lazy.

Glad to see that others have been using the ghosts to their advantage. These forums give you a great insite into how everyone battles and can give you some great tips.

Lobsterok, if you just explain the second way briefly I'm sure I'll understand.

Lol, ok, well it works better if you are the blue team, as blue base has a perfect shot on where you park the tank.

Step 1
When you go through the blue base teleporter, bring a ghost and a scorpion (obviously not through the teleporter, drive them there). Park the scorpion backwards against the wall outside the middle teleporter. Then jump in the ghost, hold A and with a bit of practice you are off the textured map.

Step 2
Fly around behind red base, slowly and carefully drop down, and with yet more practise you are in the top. Then do whatever you like.

Step 1 can also be used for oddball camping, safer flag returns (for red team), and just generally getting off the map. It is possible to get warthogs up there, but I have only done it once.
