Call me nuts. But if I were having a fight with a guy, and he was unarmed and I had a shotgun. I think that my one blast from a shotgun at point blank range would kill him. I don't think he'd be able to punch me twice, while I'm in a suit of armor, and kill me. The beat down got waaaaaaaaaaayyyy to much of a boost in that update so long ago. In fact it drives me freaking nuts. I love shooting my last rocket at a guy, only taking his shield out, and go in for the kill when he punches me in the face twice and I die. Can you spell b-u-l-l-s-h-----------!

Since it takes 2 hits to kill someone it would be nice to see it do 50-50 damage each time instead of like 90% and another shot to finish you off. This would reduce the effectiveness of bxr getting rid of at least one button glitch

great suggestion. BXB would still be around, but it wouldn't be nearly as bad as having BXR all over the place.

I think melee is the best the way it is right now. Reducing it would make starting with a single smg even more horrible. Maybe if you learned to aim with the rockets there wouldn't be a problem.

My problem is with that lunge. I never really complained about it 'till switching to 360, but on 360 (and you can ask anyone that plays on 360) your lunges go through people half the time.

Plus, I never really realized how far these lunges go. Maybe it's because I played H3 Beta so much, but I clearly remember thinking to myself today "Well, he's pretty far away, I doubt he can hit me" and he gets a huge lunge and kills me.

Maybe it was his momentum (don't know how much that affects this game,) maybe it was lag, I dunno. But the lunge is far.

It wouldn't be so bad if melees weren't so frustrating on 360 :-(

oh, and I'm not saying lunges should be taken out, I just wish they were a little more consistent.....but I guess it is Xbox Live we're taking about after all :-/

The melee is fine. That's halo. If you don't like it you're playing the wrong game. To be honest, your story says more about the shotgun than it does the melee. If you were to say the shotgun sucked people would agree.

I hate lunges 2 I cant use the sword half the time cause my lunges go through the person or...they get a huge lunge and never seem to miss. It never happens with normal melee or weapon melee(excluding the sword) so I dunno mabye the sword should be looked at a bit more for H3.
