Give the player the ability to adjust the audio mixing (speech, sfx, music) according to personal preference. Also, consider optional subtitles for all critical dialogue (e.g. mission instructions). Assuming, of course, that your intent was for the player to get something more meaningful than "...(garbled speech)...installation...(explosion)...activate...(guitar riff)...HURRY!" You've obviously spent a lot of effort on the in-game dialogue in Halo and Halo2; it's a shame that so much of it gets lost among the background noise.
