Sweet. I love how the mugs who have already upgraded to Vista are trying to scrape a bit of superiority out of their purchase by putting down those how complain of the problems with it.

All I know is that for me in Vista, Halo 2 ran about 20-30fps at 1024x768 on Low with no AA. On XP, it runs at about 30-45fps at 1280x720 on Medium with 2xAA, not to mention LOADS IN A QUARTER OF THE TIME ON AN INCREASED DETAIL LEVEL.

Aww, poor baby. Do you want a cookie because Vista takes more system resources?

He doesn't need a cookie. He has his game running in a superior fashion and without shelling out for an unnecessary OS upgrade, which is a lot better.

I get a kick out of every person who -blam!-es about Vista being more of a resource hog than XP because people made the exact same complaints about XP when it came out, 2K when it came out and 98 when it came out.
Of course it's the same people. I have no idea why you'd feel vindicated about that, because we're talking gaps of several years over which much changes. An outgoing OS is a different prospect to an incoming one. When XP came out it was what vista is now, and each iteration before that.

C-c-c-c-c-ombo Breaker!

I love you guys. You always give me something to read =). There's alot of things to consider when you think about performance between XP and Vista, but methinks and meknows that Vista uses an assload of RAM, and can be really taxing on a PC running lower than reccomended requirements... But I will agree that H2V probably could've been done on XP, but given certain features on Vista...such as DX10 *cough*

UXB:

LoL, you should really stop always assuming.

"even for such a young person."

You don't know how old I am.

"It is blatantly obvious you have no real world, corporate or actual IT experience"

Like I said to you before, you don't know who I am, what I own and run, or anything other than I am Kolusion. You make it out as though I am stupid and you far more superior than I, yet you are the one constantly assuming on the basis of nothing. haha

LoL, you should also stop speaking as though your some politician on the chamber floor. It will help reduce you looking like a wanka.
Has anyone ever seen that Fawlty Towesr episode The Hotel Inspctors where Basil says to that try hard posh guy "Whats wrong with you, can't you speak like a normal person?"? LOL, this UXB malaka reminds of that LOL!!!

Like I have said, Microsoft haven't lied about Vista's performence, it does load faster than any Windows ever. Each newer operating system does out perform its predeccesor, providing you have the computer power to keep up with its demands. Reality is though, this claim is delusional, half the computers out there still can't keep up with XP's power demands. You'd need a super computer in todays standards to load Vista at its peak. How many out there have that power?!

No worries, I'm out of here. I most definitely do not fit in with all the consumer sheeps around here.

Here's the deal.
Bungie sold out to M$oft because they made a huge bug in one of their games and had to recall it. They were in a massive amount of debt.
So now they're owned by M$oft, and they were ordered to make it Vista only. Just like Microsoft ordered 56k support on Halo1, which crippled the netcode. Yes, bungie doesn't give a -blam!- about PC gamers, but neither does Microsoft. It's why Halo 1, which was great ended up being a steaming pile on the PC and why Halo2, which sucked anyway, is the same way. I'm sure if bungie had a choice they wouldn't mar their reputation by making this stuff, it's always M$oft shoving SOMETHING down our throats.
Get over it guys, play CS or UT because those people realize the value of our market, and made DAMN good games because of it.

How about you just let it drop? Yes, I flamed the OP, but I apologized to him to, so before you open your mouth again, get the whole story.

I'm a console user, but that's exactly what I'd be doing if I weren't. I've followed the H2V saga and the whole deal (particularly the 'Live for Windows' crap) would be more than I could stand.

Actually CS turned to -blam!- also when it hit version 1.0, it was still a little bearable, but when Steam came into the picture, Valve just chopped Counter-Strike's head off.
You can still play the Counter-Strike MOD like the way it was originally designed, but 99% of CS's fans won't have the intelligence to know how to change the IP address of the WON's server, to the noSteam server, in one of Half-Life's files.

Epic still keep it real though. Epic along with 3D realms, iD, and Rockstar are one of the only decent company's left.
I suspect one of 3D Realms games now uses Steam, so if this is the case, then I take back mentioning 3D Realms.
