It means that you are losing your connection to the server. It could be caused by a loose etherenet cable or some computer settings. I would suggest that you create a shortcut on your desktop to your Local Area Connection tab under setting. Then just click repair when this happens. It may also be a problem with your Internet Service Provider, so I suggest that you take an upload and download speed test that checks your packet lose. You could also try forwarding the ports on your router, but this is only needed for dedicated servers usually but has helped people before. Go to portforward.com to find out how to forward your ports for Halo. PM me if none of those work.
Are you using a wireless router?

EDIT: Right before it says teh server has closed down do you have a gray box on your screen with a red x on it? That means its definitely connection. Updating your routers firmware can help with this.

Before forwading your ports, try going to a dedicated server. If it says it closed down then its you. If not its the other peoples servers. Also, play Halo in windowed mode and see if you get a server that syas it closed, if in the lower right hand corner it says that the network connect is unplugged, its your router. And yes, you run a fixed IP to do port forward.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Could be your internet connection, it could be you haven't forwarded the port, or it could be you may have to just disable the firewall completely.

Try typing in 192.168.1.1 into your browser this should bring you to your routers settings.
Look for something that has to do port forwarding, it may be a sub-catagory so make sure you look in a resonable location.
