I play for fun, and I somehow do good about 90% of the time. It can get aggravating sometimes, however.

i play for fun, but if you are affraid to lose a rank you take the game to seriously.
oh, and i think it's funny as hell when people lose and start crying about losing their ranks.

Yes. My rule of thumb is: "If I'm not having fun, I quit".

That includes match-making, if, say, everyone leaves our team, or they're complete morons. Hell, even if we're winning and 3 people left from the other team, I find it boring looking for and raping one guy, so I usually just leave.

Heck, even if I'm getting my ass handed to me, I don't care as long as I get to blow stuff up. And also, in H2V, I like to offer people rides in my hog when we're playing FFA, and they're all like "ZOMG THIS IS FFA DUMBASS". Like I care, geddin my hog.

Nobody ever gets in my hog :(

cheer up buddy, i'd get in ur hog.....

i do the exact smae thing, but in team training or other team games(including rank) when theres only 1 guy on the other team. i help him out by spotting my team for them n driving them around in me hog.... i dont kill my team coz i dont wanna get booted though(i think that bit annoyes my team) but ill help him catch up, then when he's close to us(in the score) i turn around n kill him. then he's like WTF u killed me, n i'm like well i am on the other team. then when he respzwns i help him again...

every1 should try it, its fun....
its even funner then gainin a rank

its sill a game to me i dont get mad and swear or freakout when i lose but i do play to win..during the game i can seem angry and order around players to try to get the win but after every game i know that it is not tha important..but u might as well only do arranged games if you are not going to play to win.

I only play SWAT so I'd say I don't play for rank (heh), but my friends all play ranked-only games, mostly team snipers and slayer, which is the reason I have any rank at all (friends come over and play off my GT)

that dont make much sense, u basically said(from my understandin of ur msg). its only a game, u dont care if u lose, but u should play arrange games if u dont play to win?

so i should only play with pll on my friends list n only play customs... ... how would i make more friends that i can only play customs with if i cant go into MM? Y should i pay to have a service i cant fully use? mayb u should pay for it, n for all the other ppl that omly play for fun n dont mind losin seeing as we cant go into MM now bcoz of what u said it only seems fair to me...

Me and the guys I play with usually just screw around and have fun in team training. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but we have fun, so it doesn't matter.
Me too, I go into team training killing myself to make my team lose, HeHe. But most of the time i dont bother playing matchmaking anymore, because people take it too seriously.

like my coach always said....you go out there and have fun, but winning is a hell of a lot more fun than losing

I always play for the fun of it. I mean yeah, I like winning, but I'm a good sport. I say Good Game either way (unless the other team wins and starts calling me a 'stupid noob' and starts telling me how much I suck. Then i tell them how sad it is they do that to make them feel better). I used to play MM for the ranks, and still do sometimes. But now I mostly play custom games or go into Team Snipers, just cuz I want to play some snipez.

Also....

[_ ]

I used to play all serious with my friends online when i got my level 36... when i started playing with this one kid online he said that he would quit playing halo if i ever got to a legit level 37... so then right after i got my 36 he wouldn't play another ranked slayer game again with him until my level went down... I never got my level 37 so then i just stopped caring about the game and i started playing for fun

???what???

SB-117

To some people, the aspect of competition is a source of fun. Learning new strategies and finding ways to improve yourself (or improve your team/clan) keeps the game fresh.

However, others would just like to wind down after a hard days work and see what crazy things happen while they try to kill fellow players.

All gamers play "for fun", it just depends which playstyle you prefer. Granted, competitive people can get a little too "into it" and make life miserable for other players.
