This might've been posted before, so sorry if it has.
Basically just running the game in 640x480.

Anyway, before you start, make sure you are playing the game in a window, not full screen.

1. Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo 2 and right click halo2.exe and go to properties, or if you have a shortcut on your dekstop or something, right click that, then properties.
2. Go to compatability and click the Run in 640x480 screen resolution check box. (Screenshot)
3. Run the game.
4. You'll notice the videos in the begining and the 'Guide' were not meant to be shown in this resolution. But they can still be guided through with a 360 controller.

This will change your entire system screen resolution to 640x480, but when you exit the game, it will return to normal! But you can always minimize Halo 2, and change it back yourself. And for some reason, checking disable visual themes will not turn off the Aero interface for me.

But doing these steps actually make Halo 2 playable with I'd say 15-30 fps on a nvidia 6150se (2 gb ram, athlon 64 x2 dual core 4000+). =)
Again, I aploigize if this was posted before, so don't start pmsing about it.

Enjoy.
