So why is H2V running so well for me? I haven't had any crashes or problems yet.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz. Currenly overclocked to 3.15 GHz
1 GB DDR 533MHz PC 3200 RAM.
GeForce 7600 GT. Running at stock speeds. It runs anything I throw at it, max or slightly lower.
420W power supply. A cheap one that came with the case.
160 GB Hard drive. Currently partitioned into three sections.
Dual Booting Windows Xp and Vista 32bit.

Halo 2 Vista runs at around 30-40 fps average with AF x4 and AA x4 with the resolution at 1280x1024 and the texture quality at high. No crashes or bugs, and even though I get a little startup lag, it usually kicks into full speed in a few minutes. At 800x600, I get 60 fps average. Most of the time I see people with Core 2 Duos and GeForce 8800's having problems. Oh, and I have nVidia's latest drivers.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

I can explain it quite easily, the biggest obstacle to H2V continues to be user error.

If you think THAT is inferior, you are extremely weird. The most powerful video card out there has 512MB VRAM I think. The most RAM you can have is 4GB, so you have a pretty good PC there.

-Guns dont kill people, little pieces of fast moving metal hitting someones internal organs kill people.
-If at first you don't succeed, call in an airstrike.
-Never forget your gun is made by the lowest bidder.
-If your attack is going well at all, its an ambush.
-Never draw fire, it really irritates your squadmates.
-C-4 can make a dull day fun!

Since its vastly inferior, you probably have horrible graphics for it. Although I have noticed that brand new machines that come with vista installed usually look pretty decent graphics wise.

I wish my computer was that inferior

I'm tall, white, and male. Therefore I am automatically the bad guy.

This is the strangest thing to ever happen to me while playing Halo.

You probably just made this thread to show off your system specs.

Probably.

If someone has a terrible computer they usually dont go into that much detail on there specs.

I also have a P4 3Ghz computer, but 510 MB RAM, possibly same power supply maybe less, same hard drive, 8500GT, gets pretty good FPS, at least 31 on average at 1280x960 for FEAR MP Demo.

I've seen someone have a P3 1GHZ processor do pretty well on games, 512MB RAM and an AGP Card

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

It's just that I see quite a few threads about people with 8800's and Core 2 Duos having problems and frame rate lag.

I wasn't aware a lot of people were still running integrated graphics. I thought they finally made prebuilt machines with PCI E slots.

  • 06.27.2007 5:04 PM PDT

What it is.

I can run Quake 4 at ultra high with 4xAA and get 40-50fps then go to Halo 2 with the same settings(except it's just high not ultra) and i only get 30-40...Kinda ridiculous...Personally, i think the game just needs to be patched up.

Wrong there. Any Maw regular could tell you my CPU speed and choice video card, and they both suck...
