I don't know about you, but I like to indent the first line of my paragraphs. It is, after all, proper grammar.

For some strange reason, however, Bungie.net instantly removes any and all spaces you make before typing your first letter. Why the hate? I think allowing this would be awesome; it saves space because you don't have to skip an entire line when you change subjects.

Strange evolution how people have come to believe
That we are it's greatest achievement
We're barely, we're just a collection of cells
Overrating themselves

Writing something that would go mostly un-used isnt a top priority.

Maybe when there is evidence that the majority of Bungie.net users can spell grammar without an 'e', they will implement it.

Go Chiefs

Proper grammar has no place on the internet.

Because HTML doesn't recognize multiple spaces (try it, create a html file, and write a sentence with multiple spaces - it will collapse).

Just use a double line break (i.e., press return twice). It is a common alternative, and it is way easier to read in the web browser.

I always thought that was just something individual web pages allowed or disallowed; of course I only had cause to try it on a few occasions when I felt the ASCII-art urge. Well now I know!

I wouldn't want auto-indenting anyway. On other sites, it creates more problems, if anything. Nothing hard about pressing Enter twice.

The only problem I have is that if I try to paste code samples (C++ FTW) on the forums (ie, my group), it doesn't show the indentation, and looks nasty. Oh well.

Good to see at least somebody takes this place seriously

I am sincerely disappointed in everyone except JIMH. JIMH, have a gold star.

',:\ IF YA SAHMELLLL

I always wanted to double space my posts, but without the tab feature it wouldn't have the same effect. It's a shame really.

Well what about the Tab-key? That's supposed to be one big space, intended for paragraphs, but it doesn't work.

Tab doesn't work because it changes focus in a browser. Plus, the size of a tab is not constant - it depends on your computer and your browser's font and resolution, etc.

So, no tabs. Not really my choice - that's just how browsers work.

Oh, okay. I guess I'll just have to stick with the ol' blank space method. ;)

I am a Floodian

I prefer to use the double spaces anyway. Maybe some of the writers in the forums, like Halifax, or Colonel Corbec would like to use them, but I don't see anyone else using them.

Breaks are just easier to type and read than indentions.

Maybe you should fix the grammar in your initial post before you complain about not being able to indent.

^ You're quite obviously in a fine mood today. Please, do correct me. I want to see where this goes.

But do it by PM, if you must. You're taking this thread off-topic.
