Ok, I'm sure everyone has had the Mouse skippyness problem. Also, I am getting this weird thing when there are light-ish colors on the screen. All these little triangles and bits of geometry flash really fast. It hurts my eyes. But, how do you fix it?

Sounds like your computer is overheating, mind posting your system specifications?

My computer does the same with the flashy thing, although no mouse skipping. No idea how to fix it though...

im not sure exactly what you mean by flashing geometry but try messing with some of the graphics settings and gamma correction and see if that helps. also make sure that your video card driver is up to date. hope this helps

I tired all that, except the gamma thing...that might work. By flashing geometry, its almost as if certain sections of objects are flashing to wireframe back and forth several times a second. Objects include MC, the Cairo, spaceships, marine and elite armor, the Arbiter, etc. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try it and see if it works.

No all of those symptoms that you listed are somehow related to overheating. Yes, you've got a killer machine, but is your PSU capable for handling it?
It could be that your graphics drivers are messed up or just not compatible with Halo 2, try uninstalling them completely and reinstalling or maybe try older drivers.

Well, I've had no problem with any other game, and Halo 2 vista is the only one giving me mouse problems.

There was a fix for this - it was by enabling Vsync I think.

But i dont know how to do that with the limited options...

Ok, I started it up again earlier, and that geometry thing is gone. But, the game breaking mouse problem is still there. When I Move the mouse, it will stop for a second, then continue to go. I have a hard time aiming and it just over-all makes the game less fun.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

In your nVidia control panel, go to manage 3D settings/program settings, then look for Halo 2. The last option is vsync, force it on. Or, from the global settings, force vsync on for all games.

As far as your graphics corruption, I don't get it with H2, but I do get it on Halo PC especially on Hang'em High. Unless your games are locking up, it isn't heat, it is crummy nVidia Vista drivers. I have SLI 7900GTX btw and it happens in single GPU as well as SLI, also forcing XP compatibility mode doesn't help either. As I mentioned before, I have no corruption in H2, so something is messed up on the driver end.

Forcing vsync really does smooth out the mouse, it worked for me and I HATE using any sort of frame lock.

You have to change this setting every time before you play the game, it defaults back to "let program decide."

And hopefully you figured out that to get to the nVidia control panel you right click your mouse on the desktop and choose it from those options. There are other ways too from the control panel.

Yeah, I went to control panel for something else, and It popped up. But thanks for letting me know this, It helps
