Subject: Bungie and s.m.g. starts, what gives?

I recently put a post up about how crazy it was that in rumble pit on Tombstone the default weapon (b.r.) was replace by the infinitly more useless s.m.g.
Well last night in a ranked game of skirmish 3 plots on Tombstone, guess what? ............s.m.g. start!.

This is a joke, but i cant see no one laughing.

What is it with bungie and their crappy sub machine gun?, it took them a year to replace the s.m.g on bigteam /skirmish games on co-ag and now we have this nonsense on what is a pretty big map Tombstone, have we got another year of this until they realise they are way of the mark again?.

Certain affinity who reskined the maps for Bungie made the b.r. the default weapon because they could see it gave both teams a fighting chance from the start, giving you the ability to put some hurt on the enemy from across the map, But no, Bungie thought it a better idea to basically decide a game by where you spawn.

I think the main reason they have the smg start on the map is because everyone was complaining about the br's host advantage. The host was able to kill people across the map a lot easier than everyone else. But in changing it to this now there is a new group of people mad about it. There is no pleasing the whole population, so they went with pleasing the majority of it I guess.

Seems to me they're kind of stubborn. They won't go back on anything they've decided and they won't listen to any self-proclaimed experts. They made the game with SMG starts and as far as they're concerned that is correct and won't be changed.

I have a feeling that if it was their core fanbase asking for more BRs, and not more the more competitively-minded or MLG-style players, they would take the idea on board. But it almost seems like they refuse to pander to anyone else no matter what the opinion or argument is. I think they're just sticking to their guns to be honest.

There was a man from Allentown who fed his son to death.
He calmly watched him gorge himself until his final breath.
And there he stood, surprised and shocked above his tiny frame.
He said: "I bear no blame for this. I only share his name!"

Bungie knows the SMG start was a mistake. They talked about it in one of the Halo 3 Vidoc. No idea why they took the BR off though, but it is probably what someone above me said. The host made it unfair and putting it on SMG took that unfair advantage hosts have away for the most part. Doing this pleased a larger population than the BR did because of host.
