Subject: Random Bootings

Today, I played (on my other acc - IVs Syked) some big team battle games and some team hardcore. I got booted for no good reason in the BTB twice, and it just happened in hardcore. I was just playing Warlock slayer in hardcore, and 3 of the other team had left so I didn't have much to do, and was just running around the map shooting. Suddenly I was informed that I'd been booted. Similar things happened on BTB. Any ideas?

It's just some bad glitchzory in the game's code. I also was booted several times yesterday, while playing BTB.

I'm selective of who I boot. If I can tell it was probably an accident, I don't boot them. You, I'd boot in a heartbeat. I booted 3 or 4 people like you yesterday, who were just running around shooting teammates.

dude wtf what are you talking about? me and my friends would be carrying our teams and then we'd get booted when we would be sitting somewhere sniping

Whether or not you're a good player or not is irrelevant. If you're a jerk going around and shooting your teammates, I will boot you. And you'll deserve it. And we'll all laugh at your expense.

That's irrelevent to what he said. He means, he was not betraying, and carrying his team, and he would get booted for no reason, idiot. And like I said in the first post, I WASN'T betraying people. Wow, learn how to read.

from what ive learned when playing games with my friends, if i do ANY damage to them, and they die before their shields recharge, you can perhaps be counted as betraying them.

I'm not sure if I got booted at random but i just got botted for the first time in a buddy's custommatch. I didn't think much of it at the time but I may have commited the cardinal sin of arriving in a custom game late. I joined in because his privacy setting was on open. I saw the menu first and it looked like they had a three team two player going and i happened to get made third player for one of the teams. I watched for aminute and saw that they were shooting the other teams and hijacking vehicles and such so figured as the audio had said it was a slayer match so, I started killing people who weren't wearing my armor color. After I killed a couple of them I got booted. I usually key up my mike and ask what's going on and I didn't do it this time. That probably explains it. I hate it when people jump in and just start shooting when we're trying to do some glitches or something.

So I either got booted because they wanted to keep it two players per team OR I wasn't playing by the pre-game set rules. Either way I sent him a message and apologized if I had been rash.

LEAD WITH CONVICTION

I think it's bull-blam!-....especially when you have the most kills and some idiot decides to sacrafice a win because they want to boot you. I have on the other hand accidentally booted someone before because I was in the middle of reloading and pressing X the same time the "boot player" pops up so that might be a small portion of it. For the most part I think people are just being stupid. I can understand if it kept happening, but not one random time throughout the game.

A lot of time this seems to happen when you've committed a lot of betrayals, your sort of put on a super sensitive to be booted list. Sometime when our team is way way out in the lead and most of the other team has quit, me and my buddies will just start betraying each other. After you rack up so many betrayals, even many games later, all it takes is one stray bullet from an SMG to hit a teammate and even if you diddn't kill them even if thier shields went back up and they died later for other reasons, it will still offer them the option to boot you. I don't know if anyone has done any real research on how many betrayals it takes and how long until you come off "The List" but thats how it seems to work. I almost always get booted like crazy for what seems like none or very little reason only after a game where I betrayed a lot and I've seen it with others too where someone will put like one or two bullets in me for fun and even after my sheilds go up and I die from an actual enemy later, it will offer me the option to boot that person on my team.

an example is this............

On terminal, your BR ing someone who is on the tracks. You haven't killed him but his shield has gone, the train comes along and finishes the job. You have been credited with the kill even though the train killed the guy. Another example is on lockout, when again shooting someone and he falls off the map, you get credited with the kill.

What im saying is, if you happen to damage a team mates shield ( and it does happen a lot in those BTB games when everyone is fighting over the flags, with stray grenades etc....) sometimes it gives you the betrayal, even if a member of the opposite team finished the job. Just like the train on terminal and the guy falling off the map on lockout !! its a little -blam!- ed up yeah.........................betrayals do carry over into your next game and so on.

It's because lets say you throw a grenade at a teammate and it hurts him, then gets killed by someone, that tells them that you betrayed them and then they can boot you from the game.
