For those who know how to make maps, I was wondering what the people wanted. So if you know how to make a map (I have a hard time with it myself) here are some ideas. Post any other ideas u want.

a map with underground tunnels for sneak attacks and all around general stupidity. the tunnels should be large enough for a warthog but not for a tank. i modeled one like it but dad got the bright idea

"If i format his computer, then I wont need to buy more RAM because it will work faster with less on the hard drive! DEE DE DEE!"
so once he did that i had to explain to him that speed does not increase with hard drive space, even though it seems like it because there are very little startup programs in a newly formated computer.

and so thats what happened to Groundhog.

A map which portrays Steven Hawking's third law in quantem(sp?) physics, has the notion to teenagers that smoking and doing drugs is not cool, can teach children under the age of 6 the colour wheel, 2nd grade Math, and of course the complex physics behind a microwave. Oh, and how Steven Seagul can make a mean Martini....
that should keep you busy, if your the one intending to make the map. :P

I would personally love to see a dogfight map, since I usually win those =). I would also like to see a reincarnation of the teleporter map or one made for zombie mode. If you could make any of those, then I would aboslutely play them. A lot.

You never see a map based on a real place. It would be interesting to play in a recreation of New York, Paris, or London...

Anything that is not Coldsnap.

To tell you guys the truth, I would actually like a coldsnap map. Understand me for a second. I don't want the unbalenced guns, sniper rifle with a 50x zoom or the LS that can shoot rapid fire rockets. What I want is a map with massive vehicles, understand I said massive not overpowered. And also, in that map there would be opportunities for infantry men to move around without getting rapped to pieces by the enemy vehicles. Whats my conclusion? A city map, a big one.

Most of the heavy air vehicles would need to stick to the top levels of the city, seeing as if they got too low they would not be able to maneuver. Because of that, only the best pilots could go down to the lower districts and be able to take out infantry. The ground would be loaded with specialized turrets that could take out most air units with ease, yet lacking movement making them easy targets if spotted. Each base would have their own specialized weapon/vehicle. For example I had an idea of a small covenant capital ship that you could drive in the air. Sort of like a super draco, the only difference is that with Halo 2's engine, you can stand on a moving vehicle without falling off, meaning you would have mobile command center. The other side would have a small MAC gun near their base. Though it's aim is limited, when you get hit by a round from this gun it's nearly an instant death unless inside a ship like the covenant cruiser.

As for terrain, it would be sort of tactical, seeing as when your working with a huge map like this there are certain points that offer keen advantages. I was thinking a bridge through the center span would be the ideal area seeing as it would be large enough for vehicles like the pelican and phantom to land and attack on, yet save for infantry seeing as the suspensions would make any shot other than a direct overhead blast worthless.

If your having a hard time picturing this, imagine the original Halo 2 demo where you played in the city, just bigger and with a large center-span bridge connecting new Mombasa to the old.

What yall think?

Slaying noobs since 2007.

It sounds like it would be bigger than Halo 2's draw distance.

So was coldsnap, but look how popular that map is.

I wasn't saying that it was a bad idea, if that's how you took it, because it sounds like it would be awesome. I'm just saying that Halo 2 doesn't have a good enough draw distance to render all of it, I know that the campaigns levels, though big, aren't full maps, they are joined together by check-points.

That sounds like a good idea, as long as it isn't as big as coldsnap (7 km between the flags!). A maximum of 3 or 4 km² might be big enough.

Im KnowN As DeMoN for many reasons. Jealousy and Hatred are main reasons...

i think it would be good to make a map that is huge just for snipers. but the snipers dont have a range limit. you could only see a limit but no range limit. because i personally like snipers and in my free time playing halo2 campaign i explore where you were not intended to go outside the levels . going to the highest parts of the levels would make a great hiding spot for snipers.

Well all the weapons would need to be modified. Sniper rifle would need a 20x zoom and any gun that is close range would essentially be useless. And you wouldn't notice the draw distance problem because most of your line of site would be blocked by huge buildings.

Is there anyone who is actually making a map based on what is voted here?
