Anything that is not Coldsnap.
To tell you guys the truth, I would actually like a coldsnap map. Understand me for a second. I don't want the unbalenced guns, sniper rifle with a 50x zoom or the LS that can shoot rapid fire rockets. What I want is a map with massive vehicles, understand I said massive not overpowered. And also, in that map there would be opportunities for infantry men to move around without getting rapped to pieces by the enemy vehicles. Whats my conclusion? A city map, a big one.
Most of the heavy air vehicles would need to stick to the top levels of the city, seeing as if they got too low they would not be able to maneuver. Because of that, only the best pilots could go down to the lower districts and be able to take out infantry. The ground would be loaded with specialized turrets that could take out most air units with ease, yet lacking movement making them easy targets if spotted. Each base would have their own specialized weapon/vehicle. For example I had an idea of a small covenant capital ship that you could drive in the air. Sort of like a super draco, the only difference is that with Halo 2's engine, you can stand on a moving vehicle without falling off, meaning you would have mobile command center. The other side would have a small MAC gun near their base. Though it's aim is limited, when you get hit by a round from this gun it's nearly an instant death unless inside a ship like the covenant cruiser.
As for terrain, it would be sort of tactical, seeing as when your working with a huge map like this there are certain points that offer keen advantages. I was thinking a bridge through the center span would be the ideal area seeing as it would be large enough for vehicles like the pelican and phantom to land and attack on, yet save for infantry seeing as the suspensions would make any shot other than a direct overhead blast worthless.
If your having a hard time picturing this, imagine the original Halo 2 demo where you played in the city, just bigger and with a large center-span bridge connecting new Mombasa to the old.
What yall think?
