OK, a question.

Is anyone here annoyed with the hit X to delay feature on the multiplayer side?

I have joined many games and someone is hitting the X key and just ruining the game for everyone. For 10+ minutes or more.

I do not fathom why this was placed in the game. Hired Gun must have been rollin' the ganga stick for this to be a doable item.

I would like your support and suggestions on what we can do. The H2V online community is tiny and dubious at best. If this keeps up, noone will play this game online.

Who can we complain to? What can be done? The game is tenative at best with vista as a requirement, the community is SO small.

Any positive thoughts or support appreciated.

I never was in a game when someone hit the delay key, but if it really delays the game for 10 minutes it sucks badly.
Can't you overrule a delay if you are the host?
And yeah, the community is really tiny, there are only about 60 players online every time i look at it, i hope it grows since there alot of people who want it to work on XP.

No he means that someone keeps spamming the delay for 10 minutes or more, to piss people off.

Yes, it is very annoying when some little brat comes in and with one second left on the countdown they hit the X over and over.

I am hoping that one of the first patches for the dedicated server fix this and include RCON.

This 'X' option is certainly ruining the gameplay for a lot of people. Well it's actually the people who press the 'X' button that is ruining it.

However, This button also doubles as the 'press X to switch teams' button. Which was another bone-head move. So I can understand that -some- people may actually be hitting X thinking they are switching teams. But they are hitting during the count-down, which is when it delays the game. I even tried a custom playlist with a 3second countdown, but it doesn't work. Look like the minimum time is 10secs.

I really hope a patch comes out soon, to remove that and provide some additional features like rcon. Seeing as this feature is in the program, I can't imagine how it could be disabled without a patch. But maybe somebody has an idea they'd like to share.

Halo 2 Vista just seems to be getting better and better.

Unfortunately, this is something I expected from the beginning. I've played Halo 2 on XBL, and this same thing happens a lot. When you're playing a wildly popular game (Halo 2 in general) a certain amount of doucebaggery is to be expected because a lot of doucebaggs think to themselves "Goody, another opportunity to be an ass and get some attention from tons of people!" . If it really gets to you, leave and find a new game. If the moron sees bunches of people leaving, he's going to go find another big party so he can get attention from as many people as possible.

But when said "doucebags" delay the countdown against the will of the party, at least the party leader can boot them.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

I remember one time someone kept hitting the delay button just to try to talk -blam!- to the other team, and we humilated them. :)

I'd say remove the X feature for "dedicated servers". move switch teams to Y since on the xbox version that would just bring up your friends list. on PC it doesnt do that anymore so that would be a good move.

you dont have to remove the X feature for custom host servers because of someone were to do that in the lobby as Kim said. they would just kick the person whos doing that.

I don't think the Delay feature should be removed, it does come in handy when you are trying to even the teams for a match. I think the ability to abuse the delay feature should be removed. Limit the number of times each player can hit it, make it so the same player can't delay twice, and show us who is doing the delaying so we can - rep him or report him the the Live service.
