Alright, I'm getting really tired of people complaining about the noob combo. Sure it makes for easy kills, THATS WHAT ITS MEANT TO DO.
The plasma pistol can drain shields instantly and thats pretty much it, the damage dealt by uncharged bolts is laughable. I fail to understand why people are getting mad over someone using a weapon the was it was meant to be used, there is nothing noobish about it.

No one likes a smart ass.....especially another smart ass!

This same thing was beaten to death when H2 came out for the xbox. And from 2+ years of debating and whining nothing has changed. So I really wouldn't waste your time on this.

If it were not unbalanced, it would not have been changed for Halo 3.

It isn't as abused in the PC version as in the XB version anyway.

Yeah, just like the Energy Sword. It gives you easy kills. See how that affected gameplay balance.

It's the hard heart that kills...

I think it's a bit much. Sword as well. The energy supply should drain off on that. (I heard that's the way it'll be on Halo 3...) OTOH, the n00b combo doesn't seem as potent on H2V.

Yeah, the swords energy supply should have been in multiplayer instead of singleplayer...
And that noob combo was in halo 1 as well, only the pistol and plasma pistol...

I hardly consider it to be a "noob" combo as even the pros will use it occasionally. Besides, it's great for elites in SP :-)

imbalances make a bad game. You wouldn't be happy if it was mroe obvious to you, such as a 1 shot kill explosive weapon that hits instantly and is perfectly accurate with a high RoF

In H2V with kb/m the PP tracking is about the same as HPC's PP

so i dont use it

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Nah, it is what makes the plasma pistol, fitting to be in the game. It can kill aslong as you are creative, and strategic in your weapons use.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

The "noob combo" was around in Halo 1. It was just done with a pistol instead.

I don't think there's any problem with the "noob" combo. I think it's called the "noob combo" because of the first poor shmuck who was on the recieving end of it. He probably got killed and started bawling about how noobish it was.

I don't find using the noob combo any different from using the rocket launcher or the energy sword. Although they may be cheap, they can be countered. Rather easily if you spot them before they spot you.
