Subject: Betrayed?

I've been playing Halo2 online for about a week and have been "betrayed" in a few games. I understand that being betrayed means being killed by a teammate, but a couple of times, a window pops up on my screen saying press "X" to eject Player Y. I ejected one player because he/she was literally chasing teammates around trying to snipe them (and apparently he/she got me once or twice).

Does the ejection option appear because that teammate has killed me multiple times? . . . killed other teammates multiple times? Is it poor sportsmanship to eject a player?

Thanks in advance.

yeah, i've noticed that it kinda picks and chooses when to let you boot. i think it is usually based on whether or not the cause of death was 100% team inflicted

I don't know, I've been betrayed by the same person three times in a row before before it would give me the option to kick the player.

It's the hard heart that kills...

The eject option doesn't always come up on even on a 100% intentional teamkill. (I think there's some limit to the number of teamkills before the option pops up for the next bastidge who gets TKed.

Sometimes, if you wound a team-mate, and enemy picks him/her off afterward, you get the blame/credit.

Sometimes it seems like it comes up for them the first time I betray them, even when it's an accident.

If you betray 3 times in a single game, they can then boot you. Now every game after that if they betray somebody, they have the option of being booted. This wears off after about a day after your last betrayal. The more people you betray before the "betrayal rate" I like to call it, resets, the less damage you have to do to have it considered a betrayal. I've had it so bad that my friend and I were on opposite sides of Ivory tower, I died, then it said I betrayed him when he died.

EDIT: Yes, it is definitely considered poor sportsmanship when you eject somebody if they do not mean to betray. If they betray for the power weapons, well, empty all the ammo while they are killing you, then boot if you can.
