The spawning in Halo 2 SUCKS. Maybe it's just me and my friends who play it., but we just got done playing three games which were all Team Ball, and really couldn't take it anymore. Whenever we had the ball, the other team spawned right next to us (on two occassions, they actually spawned in a flanking position), and when we didnt have the ball or were killed, we spawned on the other side of the map. Are we the only people who can't stand the spawn, or do u guys notice it too? Just wondering. Its has bothered us for a long time but today just pushed me to actually write about it.

It sucked so bad, I get to be spawned by the enemy which is like 20 feet away, taking advantage of me because the enemy got weapons they chose, not me. Sometimes, I spawned and I get killed right away like 2 seconds later. The double team for CTF is so messed up like the map Elongation, everytime we killed 2 guys on other team, we would take the flag but they spawned in the middle of the map which completly annihilated us. On other scene, when me and my teammate died, they took our flag, we lost because we were spawned in the spot where our flag was supposed to be and we had no chance catching them, it's bullcrap.

Bungie needs to fix this problem because its one of the reasons I am not playing halo2 that much.

Last night, on CTF on Beaver Creek. I'm in their base around the flag and I just a killed two of their guys. I'm just about to get the flag and one them spawns right in front of me with his back towrads me! Needless to say, I'm sure the poor fool did not like what happened next - another medal for me.

the spawns are horrible. I've noticed the more advantageous spawns go to the winning team, or to red over blue. I was playing FFA MLG on midship with 2 other people and out of every spawn it spawned me between them as they were fighting, I mean come on.

Damn you roor!

The spawns are not very 'intelligent' in an AI sort of way. If you are in the air someone can spawn anywhere near you, including under your feet and behind you. Also sometimes a ramp leading away from a room can spawn a person even if that room was full of the opposing team. Hopefully in h3 they make the spawn system smarter, well hopefully they did b/c it's too late now most likely.

I actually prefer Halo 2's spawning to Halo 3's random ones. In Halo 3, you literally spawn behind people. Every game I'd definitely take advantage of that little problem, but I'd also get killed by that a lot. But it's definitely something that needs to be fixed, even though everyone can exploit it.

In Halo 2, the spawns aren't that great either. But at least you can "control" them. A lot of teams rely on spawn trapping to supress the opponent to the point where they can barely move. But this mostly happens on Warlock flag, where if you have one guy top mid, and everyone else on a base, you can literally keep your opponent spawning on their flag, or below their base. Pretty much anyone who gets this setup off perfectly will win that particular gametype.

In the other levels though, it's a bit harder to set up like that, but you can get a good idea of where people will be on small maps like Midship. To take advantage of spawns, stay near your team mates and pay attention to where they killed an enemy. They'll spawn on the other side of the map (somewhere) but you'll have a good idea where.

Oh, and never jump when you expect an enemy to spawn. If you jump, they can literally spawn right next to you.

I sometimes spawn with the other team and get shreded to pieces. Once though when I did they were too stupid to notice me. I got in the tank and killed them all. LOL thats funny.

it may suck sometimes like when you get spawn killed for the other teams last kill but you can do it right back.
it adds a new level of stratagie to the game, you control where they spawn pretty much so you can make them spawn away from you or close to you i memorized all the spawn points for the maps like elongation warlock lockout and small maps so im alwas patroling them waiting for the spawns. sure it sucks sometimes but great others. to me it is just fine the way it is.
