You mean 192.168.1.0 ? That's your default gateway for LAN, WAN, whatever.

You can change it though...........but I don't know if you want to do that.....Why do you want to do that? If you turn off your router, unplug it, turn off the modem, unplug it, then restart everything fresh, it'll be reset.

Havin' connection problems or something?

I think you need to take a step backwards here. What are you trying to do exactly?? You've given the first half of the default IP address for most home networks, your question isn't making a lot of sense to me. If you say exactly what the problem is I can probably help.

I'm assuming you have an internet connection, but after hooking up the router to the modem, you lose it. That's because your router needs the appropriate MAC address and IP address (matching the modem). you can easily wait on the phone for IT (call your router manufactuer .. ex/ linksys).

you can do it yourself. but you need to get some info first.
1. hook up the modem.. if you have a connection, get the ip adress.
2. hook up the router.
3. type in 192.168.1.1
4. type in Admin for username, and admin for password
5. find the section for the ip address, type it in.
6. find the MAC address, reset it (update it). save
7. if this doesn't work, sorry, i'm trying to go through all the steps in my head.

I'm not IT. so if it doesn't work, please call IT for the router.

I think someone turned off DHCP.
