Kevin's post = breath of fresh air.
Take it from this guy people, he knows what he's talking about.

Second accounts are NOT cheating:

Im not going to play and different because someone is new. I couldnt care less about the honor system or anything else. Im here to win. That makes me sound like a jerk, I know but I play to win and that exactly what im going to do.

I think Kevin pretty much nailed it. I'll try to add something without being too redundant though =)

Basically this is way I think it is..........by definition, game exploits are cheating. We've covered this is past debates, and by the Terms of Use, it's cheating.

Now, on Tournaments and non-Xbox Live Terms of Use agreements, you can make whatever rules you want. In MLG tournaments for instance, it's not cheating.

However, these combos weren't intended to be in the game, hence why it's a glitch. That's why if you see someone doing it, leave feedback, because that's all you can do. Then you can either stay out of the lists where these happen (Team Hardcore) or you could adapt to it, and either play to avoid it, or play to use it by your own discretion. If you feel you shouldn't use it, don't do it. If you feel you want to step your game up, or if you know it's going to be used against you, you can do it. It's your call.

That's more or less all I can think of. People will continue to avoid button glitches, others will attempt to do to it whenever possible. All in all though, button glitches don't make you good. Unless your name is Eli The NiNja LOL

This thread is laughable, this isn't doctor Phill. If you want to be good at Halo 2, you need to have these "glitches" down.

glitches are fair to use. i am not saying this because MLG uses it, just cause they do something doesnt mean anything. the game has glitches, so what. that is the way that the game works. and if you will commplain that it is unfair because not all people know how to do it, then someone could, by the same reasoning, say that they do not know where weapons on the map are. so you aren't allowed to know either.

This unit may wreck, or explode at any moment.

The cure for button glitches- triple the sword lunge.

The only button glitch I use is XYY it shaves a little time off your reload and ot's become sorta' a nerves habit in games.

Same here.

As for BXR-ing, I've tried them, but failed horribly.

As for RRX-ing, I suck at aiming. On top of that, I can barely get the RRX to work.

BXB... I've never actually put that into my gameplay. Don't care much for it.

To play or not to play....

Hmmm this is an old debate and one without an easy answer. To be honest I never really deliberatey use any of those glitch thingies I just point and shoot and occasionally bash people. If you are smart enough to use these exploits then all is good but I see it as not really being worthwhile as it really doesn't mean anything just because you beat someone with an exploit. It is kind of like gloating over winning a war against spear when you have a rocket launcher. Fair enough you will probably win but hey it doesn't mean you are the better fighter.

I play for fun and it pisses me off every time someone BxR or whatever on me. I don't see a need for it and in my eyes it deprives the fun of the game a quick kill sucks when I am trying to play for fun. Fair enough you say why don't I do the same thing. Well I admit on occasion I probably have but I can not be bothered farting around with exploits half the time.

They are all fairly easy to do, if you practice with RRX for like 10 minutes it's pretty easy to do consistently.
As for myself I don't do it and the game is ruined by these awful glitches. Someone actually said super bouncing is more detrimental than button glitches? That person obviously uses the button glitches very often and is trying to make himself feel better for using them, try to play Team Hardcore with BR starting you won't have a chance without the glitches. I used to play Halo 2 quite often and was a legit 32-33 back in the day when the worst thing that happened was usually people superjumping on zanzibar which isn't so great anyways. Now the game just drives me crazy with all these glitches, only fun thing to play anymore is really Big Team Battle and that is now unranked so there is quitters and people that just betray and whatnot galore so that playlist has become a moot point aswell.

Um, I don't think that's true. Unless you're literally a prodigy, you won't be RRX'ing people consistently with only 10 minutes of practice.

Completely understandable, and fine. You certainly don't have to use the glitches if you don't want to.

Someone actually said super bouncing is more detrimental than button glitches?

It's opinion. Personally, I think Bounces are a bit more detrimental, simply because now the fight is out of the map, as opposed to in the map. Granted, you rarely encounter someone that can bounce and truely screw over an opposing team, but all in all I feel having height advantage (such as Zanzibar) is a little worse than a BxR

But I think it's a matter of interpretation/opinion.

That person obviously uses the button glitches very often and is trying to make himself feel better for using them, try to play Team Hardcore with BR starting you won't have a chance without the glitches.

Not true. I get maybe 1 or two kills tops off a BxR, and that's mostly because my style of play revolves around mid range combat. I'm terrible at close rang combat, so I'll stay out of beat down range from someone whenever I see them.

And I can't RRX (well I can but I don't use it in battle because of the risk of just screwing up with it) and I have a 25 and 24 in Hardcore on two accounts. Hardcore is not about glitches. It's about teamwork and skill.

Now the game just drives me crazy with all these glitches, only fun thing to play anymore is really Big Team Battle and that is now unranked so there is quitters and people that just betray and whatnot galore so that playlist has become a moot point aswell.

I'm not gonna lie, it's annoying to shoot someone three times only to have them turn around and BxR you. But I know that kind of thing will happen to me in Hardcore and such, so I adjust to it to compensate. However, I'm not going to argue that it's "fair," especially against people who can't do it. Basically I just feel that if you know you're going to in an environment where glitches will be used (like Hardcore or MLG customs) and you don't condone glitching, or getting glitched, then either don't play that list, or adapt to it if you can.

Oh, and leave feedback whenever you feel you've been wronged. It may not do anything, but it's all you can do.

Ah, and about your BTB comment, they should just re-rank it :-D
