Yeah, everytime I put my Halo 2 disc in the tray at the Dashboard, it says it's an unreadable disc. When put it in, turn my 360 off and on, it sayd it's an XBox CD and that I need to use it only on an XBox. Now, I had gotten it to work awhile back, and tried to download a map pack, but then the download hadn't changed for an hour, so I turned it off (or, I think, I lost power. Same difference). Would anyone have any help for me?

The only thing I can think of would be if you got a hard drive with it. Obviously if you got it running before then you got either the premium or elite xbox 360, then when you insert your first xbox disc you should get a message to download a downgrade-upgrade, (you can only do this when you have a hard drive). Then when the downgrade-upgrade is complete you should be able to play your xbox games no matter what.

If not the case I'm not sure then.

or you halo 2 maps were not completely downloaded, so I'd try to delete them off your hard drive, then retry to download them.

That wouldn't work, because I tried downloading sometime in February, so my first try would've been long ago.

Is there any map files that are not completed in your hard drive?

Yeah. I left one map downloading for an hour, and it was the exact same place, so either the power went out or I turned it off, more than likely the latter.

Then go in you dashboard, go to system, click memory, click hard drive, click games, click halo 2, click on the map pack that was unsuccessfully downloaded (if it is there), then delete it.

(I'm just guessing this is the problem)

my halo 2 game messes up only on 360, it gets weird blotches on the screen, you can see through them but its annoying, and its the only game that does it, none of my 360 games do it, and my old xbox games that are compatable have slight sound issues. does anyone else have these prolems

When I'm playing on my 360 (halo 2 campaign) It acts like it takes these pictures during campaign, then it keeps the pictures on the screen in a very light white, its annoying as hell. This is the only game where this happens, and it only happens in halo 2 campaign.

(same exact thing happens on my brother's 360)

I think its a glitch in the game.

hey thats exactly what im talking about, there should be a update to fix this

Trailer Park Boys ~ One of the best Canadian made comedies ever.

It's a problem with the Emulator that allows an Xbox 360 to play with an Xbox.

I suggest you delete all your patches on your Xbox 360 because some are emulator updates to help making Xbox games run smoother on the Xbox 360. To clear your Xbox 360 Cache and re-download all the updates. Click here to do so.

Is that just for them, or does it work for me as well? I tried what Zafen said, but that didn't do it either.

That was just for us (picture glitch), you could try this though.

Does any other Xbox games work in it?

Last Resort,

Um the only thing I can think of then is to delete all of your Halo data.

No, I tried LEGO Star Wars II and that didn't work. All of my Halo data is erased, too.
Could it be that the disc is too scratched for the 360, but not enough for reg. XBox? I highly doubt that outcome, but it could be it, right?

Thats a tough one, If I were you I'd go to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/contact/?WT.svl=nav and complain there.

Or you could also try....... go to dashboard, then click on initial setup, then click yes run setup. This probably has nothing to do with it, but if you wanna try something...

What are you talking about, if you have the downgrade-upgrade, then you can play any Xbox game on the 360 no matter which game it is.

Кланяються мені!

Your disk is probably scratched. And originaly xbox games play much better on the regular xbox than the 360 In other words a bad original xbox game will load much easier in a regular xbox than the 360. ive tested it dozens of times with my 4 copys of halo 2, Disk A is completely ruined, Disk B loads in only the reg xbox. Disk C, D both are in good condition and work on both. You merely need a new disk thats all

Maybe a solution?
Just some suggestions
1. Clean disk
2. Return, get new disk
3. Get a hard drive for 360 if not already gotten one
4. Make sure Xbox is not messed up in any possible way.

I hope i can help buddy.
If not, atleast i tried.

I have a Xbox 360 and my Halo 2 works fine in it, you should'nt have any problems just repeat the stages the other guy listed above.
