Yo,
I was wondering if a 305watt power supply was enough to power a GeForce 7950GT for Halo 2. (Hopefully that will be enough for 1680x1050 on MEDIUM with Anti-aliasing at 2-sample).Halo 2 runs nicely at 800x600 on High with 4-sample with an 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro. PCI-Express x16
If a 305 watt is not enough, is it enough to power a GeForce 7900GS?

I really dont think so if you only say 1 disk drive and 1 hard drive if your power supply has a PCI-E connector to supplyment your new card then it possably could but i would recommed goining up to a 450-500Watt just be safe power supplys in this power band are very cheap for a respectable brand

7900's are almost as power hungry as 7950's

On the 12+ v rail, he meant on the power supply in the PC.

That PSU, even if rated at a TRUE watt rating may be challenged. Try it and see. If you start the random reboot cycle, consider an upgrade, but be forewarned, some Dell and many HP cases are not standard size for PSU and pin out, and may require some strange mods. My own case was a heavy workstation with a true 280 W PSU, which failed and getting the 500 watt Antec in this thing was a real B i t c h.

1 hard drive, 1GB DDR2 RAM, Two Fans, 1 305watt power supply, Intel Core 2 Duo E6400, 2 optical drives, and an ATI Radeon X1300Pro (which i am replacing)

P.S. Please give me some kick-ass graphics card that can run under 305watts.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Get yourself a 500 PSU, or if you can, a 600 or higher.

EDIT: How much power does this require?

you guys know so little about PSU's that it makes me want to shove razor blades up my ass and -blam!- them out

this would run a 7900, possibly a 8800 GTS. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168171710 07
