For now in this game the rules have changed, a new balance has been reached and it's a good thing to be able to adjust to change instead of wishing for what once was.

Umm, who here is exactly changing? The way I see it, Halo 2 Vista was designed for the use of a controller so those players who use a control can "experience a near perfect console experience." In other words, those people who are using a controller don't have to change the way they play at all between a PC and the XBOX. But those people who are using a keyboard and mouse are the ones who are changing, they now have to adapt to slower mouse movement and adapt to a controller HUD.

Your statement wasn't well thought out

In HPC the KBM user had a advantage though Halo was a console game 1st and had no controller support.

Controller has some MINOR aim assist when AIMED on the head (YOU CAN STRAFE OUT OF IT AND IT DOESN'T FOLLOW YOU WITHOUT THE PLAYERS AIM) and KBM has to adjust to the same speeds, hence the balance and even playing field.

The statement was fine since it pointed out the needed adjustment for the KBM user instead of wanting what used to be.

If the KMB user would put up half the energy they have in this thread maybe we would already have CAL/TWL league play underway so both sides could enjoy the competition.

Yea, you where talking about change, I thought you where talking about both control users and KBM users, and that we where talking about ONLY H2V not any other game. that is false IMO as control users don't have to change the way they play at all, where KBM users have to change BIG time.

I agree there should be some sort of evening between the two, but I don't agree that us KBM users should be the ONLY ones to have to change and adapt to these new ways. Like I've said, H2V was made for control users to experience a near perfect console experience. They have made very little to no change to the way control users play the game between the XBOX and PC. Why should us PC players using KBM change the way we have been playing (for many years) just so console users can bring there controllers to the PC world without experiencing a difference? Its just not right, if you want to use a controller the way you do on a console, than I believe that you should play the game on the console and not the PC, if you want to bring the controller to the PC than it should be YOU who should change the way you play not the KBM user.

EDIT:^^
That or you can bring your controller to the PC and still experience a near perfect console experience, just don't change the way the KBM users play

Thats like saying, you move into a neighborhood where everyone has 2 story houses. You build a 1 story house and force everyone else to build a 1 story house just so it will be even (hypothetically speaking-sarcasm)

Well I'm not siding with either group, but I will say that the OP is right that there's a lot of discrimination against controller users in H2V.

If I had a dollar for every time someone in the game said "omg who is using a controller, that is so lame", I could pay my mortgage for the next two months. There's valid arguments on both sides of the debate, but, simply put, both control types were included, for better or for worse, and I think it's wrong to say it's unfair simply because someone chooses to use the controller type.

If everyone here thinks Auto-aim sucks on H2V, don't ever play the PC version of Shadowrun. While I can own people hardcore with spray weapons in SR (such as the Minigun, SMG and Shotty) because I have better aiming control of the spray with the mouse, I can't do squat with precision weapons (rifle, sniper) because the aim is so skewed for the controller it's not even funny. X360 players can nail me with rifle shots by just aiming in my general direction, I have to be right on top of them and perfectly aimed and I'll still miss a couple rounds.

Dude the consoles are fast becoming the best thing, like the xbox 360 the consoles are easy no graphics or ram space etc. For instance when I play halo CE for the PC the only difficulty I can play is easy, but if I play on the xbox I can play heroic easly and legendary for a little challenge. To me how do people like to play FPS on computers when they are som much more fun and easy on consoles?

W...T...F

First of all, I have never heard of Halo CE for the console.

Second of all, I had no Idea there was a difficulty level for online multiplayer

Third of all, consoles don't run 50 programs at once, and are graphically limited to what they are capable of playing at. PC's can play at any graphics level that go beyond what consoles can handle.

Fourth of all, it is NOT more fun to play FPS on console than PC, they are both equally fun to play with, it just depends whether you like the controller or KBM, and what you play with the most.

And fifth of all, the XBOX 360 was a mistake, 1 in every 3 XBOX 360's crash or stop working, they have a problem with heat dissipation and have crappy warranty. Why do you think Microsoft is bringing out all these new XBOX 360's for with upgraded warranty, its not because they have better performance than the current XBOX 360's, its because they have fixed some of the problems from the current XBOX 360's, its all over the web, don't you read about it, I could post you heaps of links if I wanted to.

Halo PC CE aka Halo PC Custom Edition was a download release that came out about 2+ years back and was used in later CAL and TWL play but didn't work out due to lack of support and was dropped for a return to PC, When Halo 2 xbox came out many PC gamers used the Halo CE map modding ability to make Halo 2 maps for the PC and it has kind of remained since on a small level.

It's very well known.

over at www.xbox.com they have upgraded warranties to 3 years on the biggest issues.

Halo CE= halo combat evolved

And second the reason that I like consoles is because there funner and that the games are made for you console and PC games you have to make you PC to the games and fork out 200 dollars for a good graphics card and the most I forked out was 75 for a 5200 ge force, and I would rathar have spent it on my 360.

Halo CE in the PC world is Halo Custom Edition, Halo Combat Evolved for PC is just Halo or Halo PC.

Explain why games are funner to play on the console than PC. For everything you say (except price) I bet I can beat it with a PC

EDIT: and a GeForce 5200 is like 7 years old, get with the times, for $75 you could get a GeForce 7600GT which is twice as powerful as the graphics card running the XBOX.

For now in this game the rules have changed, a new balance has been reached and it's a good thing to be able to adjust to change instead of wishing for what once was.

When the balance includes having a computer aim for you, that's my limit.
If it was dumbing down graphics, I could do that. If it was paying Microsoft to play with you guys, people do that. If it was not being able to buy a video card that you wanted because it would give you "an advantage" I could do that.
But the second you make what was once illegal, the HIGHEST CRIME in PC gaming legal, that's the end of the line.

My guess is you haven't used a controller with the game so all you can do is assume it aims for you, which is 100% false.

Go back and read my first post and the reviews and stop trying to make things up to make yourself feel better.

It does Aim for you. Even in your post you quoted a review stating that there is autoaim in Halo 2 Vista. Is this what you're arguing with me about?
I HAVE read the reviews, and all of them agree it's a crappy console port with autoaim for people who willingly use an inferior control scheme.
Now to boot, people coming to the PC (not their native platform). So M$oft gives in and gives them autoaim. There is no reason why someone who wants to play on the PC should get what constitutes an advantage. Beggars can't be choosers. If you don't like it, there's the xbox version with all the autoaim you could possibly want.

If they wouldn't have put in achievements for XBL, I would probably not have played it. I spent almost 3 years playing it on xbox only to have them award achievements to PC gamers. I'm an achievement whore so I'm going to try to get them, and I'm going to play with my controller as that is the way I enjoy playing. That's why I can't just go play it on xbox.

Anyone that wants to flame me for using the controller........flame on. I really don't give a crap.

No, use it by all means. You can do well with a controller, I see it every day.But DON'T use autoaim in a ranked multi player match. That's my gripe. Make a choice and deal with the good and the bad.

(oh and you guys kinda did get screwed with not getting achievements lol)

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

You all fail.

PC's and Consoles are the same thing, with different applications. Console GPU's are better designed for running just games. PS3 has a working internet browser I hear.

THe line between the two is disappearing. You can choose to either accept it or fight it. But be aware that regardless of what you do, you can never change what is becoming commonplace in today's society.

Well, you couldn't of gotten the 1st part more wrong. PC's and consoles are NOT the same, thats like saying China's internet is the same as Australia's or America's internet. You can't do jack -blam!- on China's internet because over 90% of it is filtered out, but you can do anything on Australia's, or America's, or any other country without filters internet.

PC's and consoles will NEVER be the same. PC's are for all around use, whether it be gaming, browsing the web, web designing and over a million other things. Consoles will NEVER be able to do everything a PC can because the second they do, they become a PC.

Its true that console gpu's are better optimized at running games, but considering they are locked at 27-30fps (which in the PC world is barely playable), and can't play a lot of todays games without needing to downgrade the graphics makes them crappier than PC gpu's. PC gpu's (depending on what you choose) can experience framerates of well over 100, can play games that not even the XBOX 360 can even dream of playing, and still have all the fancy graphics and effects.

And last of all, its ONLY Halo 2 Vista which has totally screwed up the way us KBM players play FPS games, not to mention it being one of (if not, the) crappiest port ever made, it was made by a bunch of losers who obviously seem to be console geeks, and I have plenty more bad things to say, but I think I will leave it at that.

The fact is, is that no other gaming company will ever do what they did to Halo 2 Vista. The game was good but the controls sucked which lead to a bad playing experience, and no-body likes a bad playing experience.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Input device apparently.

I have seen videos of the "auto aim" using a controller in H2V, and they can have it. I saw many instances where the guy with the controller was "stuck" on someone he didn't aim onto, or some dude would enter the screen and mess everything up. Pretty hilarious.

We're actually arguing about whether Console gamers should get auto-aim, I think we all agree that the controller has serious limitations when it comes to shooters.

I personally prefer the Xbox 360 controller over the Keyboard/mouse combo. A Keyboard and mouse isn't pressure sensitive where as with a controller you can move at any speed you want. Plus the controller is more ergonomic.

You can reconfigure your buttons so that you can have the controller in your left hand to move and move in your right hand.

The message is simple. If you use a controller and think you are better than a player who has a KBAM then challenge them.. I personallly think I am better than the average controller player. Not to mention how your sensitivity gets messed up whenever you encounter someone with a Controller. Naturally a person who is a "pro" has much more and advantage over me than just the aim-assist that is present, ie: play time. I think will set the challenge out there..

if you think you are better than any Keyboard and Mouse player challenge them and beat them, soundly!
KBAM Vice versa

I use a KBAM and I can tell you from my experience the short comings of a controller player outweigh the aim-assist they may have. (ie: spinning speed, over all faster ability to aim to name a few).

if you want to play me, by all means msg "bckon" on live and I'll be your huckleberry..
