When I saw this thread today, I thought I'd tell you something... I'm an average Halo PC player, and I don't have any Halo games for Xbox or the H2Vista. Months ago I bought a 360 wired, normal controller because I would use it for racing games such as Trackmania. Well I tried it with HPC and it was nearly impossible to control my character, even the hogs and ghosts. And I moved and aimed even if I didn't want to - see, no good support for a pad.
I was a typical pc gamer who didn't like those "Xbox noobs", still I kept quiet and didn't flame on threads like this how "easy it is to be a Halo2Xbox pro" or something.
Yesterday on level Damnation (what is one of my favourite maps) I met a nice guy who played with a 360 controller. He's active Halo player, and has played H1, H2, and H3beta. And he said "the Damnation of HaloPC is the best map of all Halos' multiplayer maps". He was playing as the host but still... He was very good, for a controller user. He often killed me and got better scores. And theres no aim assist for Halo PC. So a very skilled controller user can beat a pc gamer without aim assist. I learned my lesson.
You guys should learn it too.
