I Love Halo 2. Is the best game of ever, and the only that will surpass him is Halo 3. Ther's nothing better than Halo. NOTHING.
But tell me, why the BXR and RRX wasn' t remove by the multiplayer? They are glitches.
I just want to know why, im not angry or other. Im sure there is a reason.

Bungie has stated that trying to fix these problems with a patch would cause more problems than there already are. Here is the link where this was stated.

It would cause them more problems than there already are. In theory anything could be patched, in practice some things are just not worth the developers' time and resources.

There is some disagreement as to whether using button combos is "cheating" or just through practice utilizing button combos to gain an advantage. While I agree that it certainly seems unfair at first when you are learning (as I am) I see it mostly as "learning your weapon system".

I doubt very seriously that anyone in actual combat would look at any tactic that gives them an "unfair" edge over an adversary as being "cheating", just a way to increase the odds.

Other than server / host manipulation or coding hacks, I have yet to find any of the glitches to be that much of an advantage. Most of the button combos can be learned by anybody. The perches gained through superjumps with a couple of exceptions (lockout being one) only put you in a position to get picked off yourself once someone discovers your location. As far as I've seen a lot of the off-map type locations are only gainable by using custom maps and setting extra shields. I'm sure there are ways of doing i in a match but I haven't really noticed many people doing it.

The one glitch that does drive me bonkers is the host advantage issue, particularly during Team SWAT.

Kevin's post = breath of fresh air.
Take it from this guy people, he knows what he's talking about.

Second accounts are NOT cheating:
http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?cid=13824

Bungie defines them as cheating but they dont ban for it. Even if they did, I dont care. Im still going to do them anyway whenever I need to (which is rare).

the bxr and rrx are just like the double melee in h1 its a skill you learn to play better not a glitch there both extreamly helpful if you practice and get better at them

Anything that tampers with the programmers, developers, and gameplay's intention is considered a glitch, and when used/exploited is a cheat. Just because someone gets good at a cheat, doesn't make it suddenly 'OKAY' to do. If these were intentional and for everyone to use and know, then they would of been in the game's instruction manual.

Just because it takes skill, doesnt mean its not a cheat. I guess I should go get skilled at robbing banks, cuz then it would be okay for me to rob them, right?

I love BXR'ing etc. While you dont like them there are non-noobs that do like them.

Greatest of all time

it is almost impossible to kill someone with a double shot, it is easy to do but hard to use effectively unless ur opponent is stupid.

bxring is easier to dodge than actually doing it

Well considering that you don't get banned for them, and it takes some practice to get good with them, and they increase you're skill level, AND MLG allows you to use them i really don't understand the problem. I think they were put in purposely, especially the BXB considering you could BLB (punch throw nade punch) in halo 1 (which is equal to BXB in halo 2[punch cancel punch]) i think they just made it so you didn't have to throw a grenade and risk your own death. As for the BXR(punch cancel shot) and the RRX(double shot) and the quad shot (RRXYYRRX) i think they are legitimate glitches that everyone can do with enough practice. its like learning to strafe...practice it, you will get good...practice you're double shots...you get good, and may need it for that last clutch shot when somebody is jumping from top blue to blue flag with you flag while he's trying to strongeside...PRACTICE it so you can stop complaining about it

8/5/08 Bungie Favorites- NoEnd
7/1/09 Bungie Favorites- RECON Devil
9/9/09 Bungie Favorites- Champion
5/22/10 HaloCharts Favs- Prey

it's too late to try to fix. They would have to change all f the game physics, just tough it out for 2 more months and hope that halo 3 is bug free

ever seen the superbounce on burial mounds? the one where you can then get out of the map very fast, and be able to snipe from 3/4 of the top rim of the map. an experienced superbouncer prolly can get out of the map in less than a minute. take a snipe on the top of the rim, retreat and snipe from somewhere else.

who have you been playing that sits in one spot when they superbounce? only if they are brain dead would they stay in the same spot. sure, they dont have much room to move in some cases, but smart players use all the room they have and snipe from a slightly different location each time.

furthermore, you cant pick and choose which glitches you like and dislike. if you want one of them, you have to take all of them. a glitch is a glitch. superbounce = glitch, bxr and bxb and rrx = glitch therefore bxr = superbouncing = bxb = rrx

someone who says that they like superbouncing, but they hate bxr is a fool and ignorant. if you condemn one type of glitch but not another that makes you a hypocrite. so either accept all glitches or hate all of them. no in between on this one. if you accept all glitches, although morally wrong to those who have a shred of moral fiber left, at least you can stand up in what you believe in.

Yes they were put in purposely.. thats why they are in Halo 3 right?! /sarcasm

Nice try kid. Its not like learning to strafe.. or learning to jump. Worst example ever. Just because a person is good at exploiting glitches DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT. Little kids don't seem to understand. Ask Bungie what they think... guarantee they answer like I do.

Send A Friend Request to Schloxictonkey if you need a good teammate and you are good

when i learned about bxr i started learning to use it right away. doubleshotting is different. ive spent alot of time practicing it, but i never used it in any games up until about a week ago. its a pretty amazing trick. ive been getting some amazing, satisfying kills with double or triple doubleshots. I LOVE IT

exploting a glitch in a game to gain an advantage = cheating. I don't care how you look at it or how much "skill" it takes to do. It is not how the game is intended to be played. You're cheating. Get over it.

So much misinformation... gah!

1. They're animation bugs. Fixing them could impact many many other systems, and it was deemed too risky to patch (initial efforts found a few immediate regressions).
2. They weren't put in there on purpose, don't be foolish.
3. They're cheating on Xbox Live. We don't ban for them because glitches of that nature can be reported by the feedback system. I don't care what MLG does, we don't sanction their gametypes, even though some of them think they should get to sanction ours.
4. Not everyone can use a button glitch - some localized versions of the game can't perform the glitch due to their display technology.
5. People suggesting otherwise are in danger of getting banned - advocating cheating is against the rules of this forum.

achronos, you said that the glitches can be reported on the feedback system, would that be a cause of getting booted from a game without teamkilling? (lets say i bxrd or rrxd someone)

this makes sense, but it's kind of soubtful.

get back to me on that, thanks

Achronos, may I ask which "localized versions of the game can't perform the glitch"? I mean, are you referring to the difference between PAL and NTSC systems?

so basically, if we say that we use bxr or double shot we get banned now correct?
