Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

Then download and install winrar, it's really not that hard.

LOL - funny

HERE's a direct d/l for ppf-o-matic

1. Now to get the Shader Model 2 effects (and I must say they DO look impressive on the weapons, though I didn't really notice much difference for the pistol) simply extract the files from "Restored Shaders.rar (you will need winrar) preferably on the desktop and leave them there.

2. Than open up ppfomatic3.0.zip and double click on "ppf-o-matic3.exe"

3. Across from ISO File click on the floppy disk and browse for "bitmaps.map". If you installed Halo to the default directory than it should be located in

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS\bitmaps.map"

just copy and paste that in the blank space next to "ISO File"

4. Than next to "Patch" click on the floppy disk and locate "bitmapsrs.ppf" which should be on your desktop.

5. Than click "Apply", delete the files you copied on the desktop, than play Halo. As simple as that.

Actually, if you have a gfx card which supports shader model 3 or higher, you will get higher framerates with this patch than you did with the standard shaders.

This is because higher shader models increase performance and framarates over lower shader models. The only reason in most games you get less performance with shader model 2 or higher over lower shader models is because with a higher shader models developers can add much more detail to the shaders, which they generally do (increasing the graphics substantially). But because this is just a standard shader model 2 without all the extra details, you will receive better graphics while getting better performance at the same time.

EDIT: I have noticed a good 10-20fps increase with this patch on my 7600GT. Before I used to average out at about 50-60fps and occasionally 100+fps, but now I'm am averaging 80+fps and occasionally 120+fps :-)

EDIT 2: I also have noticed a bit of texture problems, I'm not sure whether its the drivers or this patch, but I suppose you can ignore it.

:D great install instructions. Patching now, although taking quite a while...
