Hey everyone, i recently just got halo 2 for vista, and yes i do have vista,
unforutnately when i tried to run it i got this error:

one of the installation steps failed. Do you want to retry?
redists\vcredist.msi:
This installation package coul not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package.

Ive tried everything to fix this. Ive updated my graphics card driver, cause it prompted me too, ve also updated the visual C++ file that uses vcredist.msi and it still doesnt work. Ive read that others have had the same problem, but they dont give a solution. I think maybe the file is corrupt???
Does anyone have any ideas what to do??
Any help would be great.

If nothing works, just pack it back up and return it and buy a new one.

No i havent disabled anything on vista, and i always do my regular updates too :S
Ive been posting on another forum, and one person suggested that it may be Vista thats screwing up,and to try and update/reinstall Windows Installer 4.0 and .NET 3.0. Also try logging into the Admin account.
Ive tried downloading thos but i cant find ones that work anywhere. All the ones i find either dont work, or stop half way through the installtion :S
