If you have a descent PC and Vista then get it, don't listen to the people who bash because they don't have it.

I have Vista Ultimate and I also have H2V. The game isn't crap, just buggy, and even with a high end system, it doesn't run completely well. The game to me is only worth $20 Australian, so about $15 American, so if you can't get it for that price, I don't think its worth it unless your a BIG Halo fan. To be honest, the game did not excite me as much as Halo PC did, than again, I played much better titles than Halo PC and H2V so I guess that could also be it. I guess if H2V came out say a year or 2 ago it would of been a great purchase.

Its not that bad. Even with an 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro, 1GB RAM, and a Core 2 Duo, 800x600 on HIGH with AA at 2-sample is easily achieved. Or 1024x768 on Medium with AA at 2-sample. (THATS WHAT I HAVE)

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I think it is a great buy if you have Vista. :)

I'm going to pick it up today.

I like the new achievements, but I'm mostly wanting it for the map editor.

I'm only interested because I want to hack the hell out of the map files. And no, not to "mod" or "cheat", just because I like to tinker, and I'm a big fat nerd with a hex editor >.>

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

I installed Windows Vista just for Halo2Vista. (Vista is pretty sweet btw.)
I played with maximum settings @ 1280x1024 with 4x anti-aliasing. My frames where good(60 constantly) but the game was still very choppy and the mouse support was just crap. Don't get me started about the lag, and the lame ppl spamming on the mic. It's a very bad port imho.

 • 07.04.2007 11:21 AM PDT

Halo 2 Vista is abit buggy, for some more then others, I've been running it just fine, there are a few things that I don't like about it, but it's been pointed out to the guys who made it. I've recorded and posted some video from it.

Running it at 1000x700 on low, 20 to 25 FPS
Running it at 800x600 on med, 10 to 25 FPS
there are some times that I get frame rate lag, but it goes away. and I must say, Self shadowing is da bomb, when you find a light that gives it off.

(Bungie > 343i)

Halo 2 Vista is a great game if you have a great gaming PC. I recommend getting it.

Better to die on your feet then live on your knees!

Time for your PissTest.

If you have a good processor, card and memory (1.5 - 2 gig) you will love the game, if you have a 2-3 year old system it will feel buggy to you.

No problems here and it's a blast.

Both CAL and H2O have taken the game in for leagues play and 4v4s MLG gametypes online are sweet.

I bought it yesterday [like I said I was.]

My video card isn't up to specs- it runs it, but could go a bit more smoothly.

Is VIsta Ultimate worth it? Is the difference noticeable?

I like extra features in ultimate myself and since it's going to be the new OS of the future ill have everything it has to offer.

You can view the differences of each version on the microsoft website and buy according to your budget and needs.

More people WOULD buy the game, if Vista wasn't a requirement. How lame.

that would be a bug, and if you got the right forums (which I've learned is H2Vista.net) and post your bug, it'll be noted, and worked out, I for one has finshed the game 2 times all ready, working on it some more. but then again, I haven't taken the DVD out of my DVD drive yet. the quick fix I learned from these forums for that is that you leave the H2V DVD in the DVD drive when playing SP, it helps with every thing, and if you ever want to install the editing ket or something, you can do that.
and like I said, I think H2V is a good game, I don't know why people have to go and say it's a bad game, it works fine, and I for one think it's better then Half Life 2, not 100% GFX wize but it has some things that I don't think that Half life 2 has, like self shadowing, and the fact that you can see your legs, and shadow is a plus.
