Ok, I got xbox live last christmas. and I haven't got on it at all. Can someone help me hook it up? I have aol broadband (which I can connect on xbox live, just incase you think I can't) If that helps at all. I really want to play online. And my parrents haven't done a thing.

what do I do? I didn't do anything to make the cordless thing know to go to my computer, do I have to do something to make sure it's connecting to it?

Okay, so you have wireless broadband and a wireless adapter in your computer. Do you have the special Xbox wireless adapter? How about a wireless router/hub/switch?

Im gettin (I hope) xbox live this christmas, ive looked it up, and ive learned it's better to buy a xbox wireless adapter, too bad they cost like 170$ bucks

I'm sorry, I don't know too much about wireless. I'm skipping over it and going straight to fiber optics.. Anywho, is your Xbox not being detected on the network? If you have the wireless adapter plugged in, the router should detect it and it should be added to the network.

wierd. I don't really know, It goes to the last option in the connecting process, and then the last step fails, which one is that?

I think the last step was either connecting to xbox live or connecting online. I'll try to check, but i'll have to find all my xbox live stuff. It might take a while.

Do you still own the manual that came with your router? You may want to find your router's IP address in there, type it into the address bar of your web browser, log in as the admin, and check what computers it is detecting as "connected to the network".
