Here is the thing that people who buy the maps should know.
I understand that it costs time and money to make some maps, even if they are substandard and poorly done.
Ms and bungie feel they should be paid for these maps which is fair enough. I have no problems with a supply and demand market.
Thats not a problem for me, thats okay, i understand these issues and i find them fair enough, even though I think they should be free to begin with since this is fleecing your hardcore fanbase for their money, but you have the right to do that (unfortunately)
But the REAL problem, and essentially the issue here for me is the fact that some of the initial reasons that I bought this game has become limited, and effectively removed from me untill I pay more money to bungie and MS. They want me to pay them to retain full functionality into a product i already owned.
Yes, I didn't buy Halo 2 with the knowledge that new maps become free.
But I DID buy Halo 2 with the knowledge that I would have access to a full set of options which includes different playlists.
You see what you are buying is not just 2 Maps, your buying the right to have previous features you had work again. And thats not just an insult its a disgrace. I have a credit card, but I wouldn't pay a company to give me something I once had free to work again. Playlists I can no longer play unless I have these maps I don't want. You can sell what you want and I can buy what I want, but i shouldn't be punished if i do so. I pay money for xbox live so I can play these games fully online. Why do you want me to pay more money to experience these games fully online. If you know that making these new maps will cut off your people from using current features, then they should have made them free, or not make them at all, or not put them onto the matchmaking system. But they knew that no one would buy the maps once word got out that they were not as good as in Halo 1 and nostalgia wore off, so they effectively made it a must purchase. They can pull this off now because halo 2 is old, but if they try this on halo 3, they will get a rude awakening.
So there you have it.
As for the ERSB supporters, if your parents say its okay for you to play a title then the ESRB notice means nothing. 5 years old can LEGALLY play halo 2 online, as long as their parents are okay with it. So your arguments for the age limit means -blam!-.
