I dont know if you are trying to be funny or not. I run mine on a 20" wide lcd, 1248x960 with:

AMD 4600+ 62 X2
400GB Hard Drive
4GB RAM
GeForce 7900GTX

I run it on: High Quality, 4x Anti-Aliasing, Highest Resolution, and high everything. I average around 50FPS in campaign and in intense XBL battles.

Oh not trying to be funny I'm going to go get it and wanted to know if it would run good.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Are you kidding? No, seriously, Halo doesn't require much, your rig, is almost like mine, except I didn't get a Physx card, because next to nothing uses it. And got a nice sound card instead, but in short yes, it will do it the best that is availble to use currently.

the only thing your rig is lacking is a better processor

Unfortunately, thanks to that "Master Cooler clear sided case", your framerate will be horrible and likely you'll have to play it on low settings.

Ha ha... Nice trying to showoff... Too bad I'm going to laugh when your SLI runs worse than non-SLI.

and i hope that thats sarcasm

seriously ,do you not know that the pentium D is not high end anymore?
that processor is going to be a serious bottleneck for the rest of his system
and although it will probably run just fine ,it will be no where near the performance he could get with a e6700 for instance

Is it that bad, it is dual core and the speed is very nice i am going to overclock it to 4ghz. ( they overclock nice)

Slaying noobs since 2007.

It isn't that bad, it will run on high, and actually should max it out in graphics.

no it should run just fine ,great even
but if you want to truly unlock the power of those 8800 gtx's you will want to eventually upgrade to better processor

unless I'm wrong ( and correct me if I am), he has a dual core. 3.2 X 2 = 6.4 Ghz of processing. If that's how a dual core works, then it also = kick ass.
then again, I'm stuck with a 1.7 Ghz single core. :D

No, you don't multiply it.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

You dont add, multiply, take the square root, take the inverse co-secant, find the derivative of anything. It's two separate processor cores and nothing else.

no the core speed is still only 3.2 ghz ,

also the pentium D ,although great for overclocking is still not anywhere near the performance of a core 2 duo ,for one the architecture is much much better
in comparison a pentium D at 3.2 ghz is about equivalent to a core 2 duo @ 1,73 ghz

A little known fact is that the core 2 duos are also excellent overclocks. Not to mention clock per clock the core 2 duos can be twice as fast as pentium Ds depending on what they are doing. This advantage shows in media encoding more than gaming though.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

That 8800 is all you need.

No way man, not with that case. It's a known fact that clear cases make your system slower (replace slower with something more sarcastic). Ooo, a PhysX card, oh yeah that'll impress the ladies. There's a great investment. Like buying a Voodoo5.

  • 07.06.2007 8:41 AM PDT

Well, I have a quad core overclocked to 4 ghz. Is that good?

Can anyone recommend a new cpu for me. PS i got the PhysX card for free from a friend and some PhysX enabled games use it good!!
