You always have an option, you just have to let yourself not get caught in a situation where host would win.

This is off subject and all but WEBB if you dont like GoW why dont u just host ur own game OOOOOHHH im a problem solver you should put me on ur corporate team, think about it

Again, you're misreading my posts. I love GoW, Seriously, THIS IS ANNEX! and Purdy Mouth are all the achievements I have left. What I was saying is that host in GoW is absolutely terrible, that doesn't mean that I hate it. And my statement that I will be glad to "get rid of it" was an exaggeration, i'll just quit playing ranked. And as far as your suggestion goes, I wont host another ranked match, I got my achievement for it and continuous hosting will somewhat lessen the satisfaction of Seriously once I get it, that's why I don't host.

I meant that GoW's host is the bottom standard of where online shooter host can be, while halo sits firmly at the top.

And I'm not trying to be patronising or anything but I honestly don't know what to make of this, "OOOOOHHH im a problem solver you should put me on ur corporate team, think about it"

Getting a bad spawn is just bad luck. All great games have an element of luck. Besides getting a bad spawn there's always an option to do something. Go head, try to list a very detailed situation where you have no options at all besides getting a bad spawn.

As I said before it was an exaggeration and a justifiable one at that. any long time GoW player knows how frustrating the long road to seriously is and would get the joke. Since this thread has gone completely off topic and you seem to be changing the subject with each post, i'm going to assume you've realised the thread was pointless to begin with, was just pointing out facts that everyone knew, and that you are a retarded n00b.

Later.

common problems when someones hosting (and its bad) Cable is fine for like 4 people but for 8 person games good is only like a T1 host

1. Your doubleshots dont register on them
2. You CANT out br them when both of you have equal shields unless its a close range fight
3. They have a bs shotgun
4. The sniper is easier to use
5. Your br takes 7 headshots at mid range to even take the shield down
6. Your beatdowns fly through them or sometimes dont register
7. Their beatdowns ALWAYS hit
8. Your bxr goes through them or doesnt kill while they kill you with one 3 seconds after you performed yours and beatdown after
9. When you nade them they can jump and fly in the air avoiding tons of damage
10. People will prolly say bs on this one they have a larger blast radius on nades (not more damage) the nades they throw just hurt you from farther

I couldn’t agree with you guys more on this subject. It’s not a huge secret that host advantage is a real deal. It’s not as frustrating to me as it was when I first started playing on Xbox Live though. The problem I had was that I was used to playing system link MLG games at my house with friends. And I’m sorry to say, a Xbox live game without host is a completely different experience than with host. It takes time to get used to the BR bullet lag, and sometimes the amount of head shots it takes to kill someone can be completely ridiculous. Nothing sucks more then someone -blam!- talking because they killed you, when you really head shot them enough to kill their whole team.
Only advice I could give you is, Don’t try to out BR anyone you are playing against from across the map if you are experiencing bullet lag. Stay within mid range and don’t get too close. Because they will be able to beat you down after you beat them down and you will die a horribly painful pissed off death while screaming, “I HEARD MY WHACK FIRST WTF?!?!?!?!?!”.Nobody likes that -blam!-.

1. They register if its close-mid range.
2. Maybe you just have a bad BR?
3. Don't let them get that close to you, or use the sword.
4. The sniper isn't easier to use, the shots just register immediately which is good for big maps, but most of those maps are unbalanced.
5. Maybe you just have a bad BR?
6. If your beatdown flies through them, turn around quickly and get an assassination.
7. Not always.
8. If your BXR goes through them then turn around and get an assassination.
9. What are you talking about? If you naded them then they should have no shield and they'll just be helpless in the air while you can just headshot them.
10. It doesn't have a larger blast radius, just that on their screen the nade is a lot closer to you than on your screen.

Most of those "problems" can be solved by just learning to lead with the BR. Yeah the host does have an advantage but they also have disadvantages you can use to exploit.

Punctuation is your friend....

I was thinking the same damn thing...

Anyway, host advantage isn't as bad as some you make it out to be. I have have an even chance of out BRing host as long as its not hella long range... and my BR isn't particularly amazing.

On Live, host is definitely an advantage. Especially in playlists like Hardcore. Yeah, it sucks, but we all have to deal with it. You may have to tweak some playstyles if you know the other team has host (hide, camp, try not to venture out in the open too much.)

Halo 3's system is much better. There's less of an advantage with host.

If the advantage for the host pisses you off so much then stop playing on live and play on LAN.

Yeah, there's obviously an advantage, as Iceman said, but I really don't think of it as a big deal, even in halo2. I hate host in FFAs, just ask Iceman, the one FFA he played with me was on my host, and I just ended up assisting all game. Usually, when I see a host on the other team, I don't go "OMG his host is so cheap". I'll usually say something along the lines of "Wow, I'm getting hosted hardcore across map", but then I call it out, and try to put a team fire down on him. Teamwork>Host in every possible case. Plus, once I get into mid-range, I don't even see the effects of host anymore, unless its a bad one. The only time I really notice host is when I'm getting shot across map, and when those death-nades are oh so effective.(I'm a huge death-nade whore BTW)

Like Iceman said again, just be smart when playing host, its not impossible to beat at all.
