Ok... so maybe it would seem that this belongs elsewhere... but it doesn't. It has to do with an argument I had. Besides, the people here are much more intelligent than elsewhere.

So at school, somehow the topic of Halo 2's release date came up. I said they pushed the deadline back because they weren't finished. My foe disagreed and said that they only pushed it back to extend the limelight for Halo PC so that it sold more copies before Halo 2 took over. I told him that that was bull-blam!-, and I used the argument that Frankie posted weekly updates... unless...

UNLESS THERE WAS A MASSIVE CONSPIRACY!!! AND FRANKIE WAS JUST MAKING ALL OF IT UP- AND HALO 2 WAS DONE LONG AGO!!!

But that is highly unlikely. I know there was no conspiracy, I just need help with a better argument to debase this individual's intelligence in a more ruthless manner.

I don't think Frankie was making it up.

Frankie: So guys, is the game done yet?
Bungie Guy1: Yeah, we finished about five mo-
Bungie Guy2: No, we're still not done. In fact, Halo 2 exploded and we had to start all over.
Bungie Guy1: ...
Frankie: 0_o' Should I put that in the update?
Bungie Guy1: No, make up stuff about being worked on still. We can't disappoint the fans.
Frankie: Good thinking!
Bungie Guy1: ... good, he's gone. Now back to -blam!-.
Bungie Guy2: Good call.

It could have been pushed back for the fall season - afterall, market-wise, right before Christmas is a safe time to release a game. Though this tactic seems to be backfiring since so many people are taking the 'safe road right before Christmas' that many games are being overlooked since there are just so many of them.

Helljumper's right, November 9th was the first actual release date, those others you saw were just when people thought it would come out
