religion and politics can cause a lot of hate....so yes I prefer my bungie.net without religion and politics

Agreed, it just seems to clog things and not better the community aswell. I can understand "community" politics, such as what should posted, where it should be posted, and why, but the politics here are different then the politics in the real world. In other words, the politics in the community seem to better the community through trial and error where as posting about politics in the real world won't do much but cause hate and flames. I hope what I said was understandable.

Ooh, in other words, I would like to think of B.net as an entirely seperate world then earth, each has its own rules, politics, and everything. It's also on the internet...

Edit: Typos ftl.

Halo3Planet, the place for all things Halo 3..

Need help finding skulls, make sure to go here.

If people do not like to discuss politics or religion, then they should not enter the threads that are discussing them. I am not suggesting that we should use politics and religion as insults or randomly in other threads, I'm saying that, in The Flood, the users should be able to make a thread or topic that is discussing different religions or political views. I really feel that if Bungie enforced the rule that you may only discuss religion and politics in the threads that were made for just that reason, then we wouldn't have as much of a problem with flamers and the like. But, these threads would still need to be policed, heavily, so that no flames or idiots can post whatever they want as an assault at others.

And to Recon, it shouldn't matter that this is a gaming company's community site. With that argument, one could say we should just delete the entire Flood, because that has nothing to do with anything that could make Bungie or their games a better place.

You are missing the point here. People, in general, can not be trusted to act maturely in these sorts of discussions. And as has been said, the anonymity of the interwebz and the main demographic of this site would not mix well. It's best to keep religion and politics to private forums. Also, to be fair, this is a video game developer's website, and not something like teens4christ.org or fstdt.com.

Then, if it is a video game site, why do we have discussions in the flood? That forum has nothing to do with the company. I feel that if Bungie were to allow the discussions and severely punish those who break the rules, then there shouldn't be a huge problem. They could just give us a 7 day trial to see what happens.

No one should be allowed to give an opinion about anything on the forums. Opinions should be banned from Bungie.net. Any user that gives an opinion on anything should be permanently banned.

What... you didn't know?! All the best Bungie.net members/moderators have been doing exactly that for years! LOL

(Joke)

Seriously... I think this is the best opinion in this thread yet. Ha!

No... ok... seriously this time. Okay, with all honesty I think this idea should be enforced because, if nothing else, at least Achronos stands a chance of finally implementing his masterplan of 'calculating good behaviour' and scoring it or whatever. No. Seriously. I am not joking this time at all... at least about Achronos.
