Don't assume anything, because it makes an "ASS-" out of "-U-" and "-ME"

It is to do with lag, obviously. But look at the sword and the shot gun, when you charge at someone it takes ages for them to die, and by that time your probably dead. And when your opponent has the sword, you're running backwards and they're halfway across the map, you feel you are safe, they charge from a massive distance and you die. If you've got the shot gun and you're opponent has the sword, you've got to be extremely lucky to survive that. I used this example of H2 lag because I hate the sword on live! No matter how many strikes I make with that thing they won't die! I charge at people, it swings, it "hits" but they don't die! The same with taking cover. especially in SWAT (no shields). You're being shot at, you run to cover, get behind it, about 1-2 seconds latter you die by head shot, noted by the direction you fall over and the change of the position your body is in.

As for other people having their firing animation being synchronized with their shots, or events, my guess is that only the event is sent across the net and the game creates it's own animation to synchronize with it, therefore, they appear to shot at the right time.

As frustrating as it maybe (believe me, I get pissed every time I play H2) you will have to learn all the faults in the Internet play and try to learn how to avoid it.
