Heres a cheap sniping tactic to aggravate your friends with next time your in a deathmatch.

Turn on all vehicles, weapons on normal, and play on the sidewinder level.

Grab a sniper rifle and a tank, drive it up to the outer cliff on the blue light side where the rocket launcher is located, drive the tank around the cliff past the rocket launcher towards the outside of the portal.

Now back it up the hill next to the portals outside door, the tank should be facing straight at the tree out in the middle of the level.

Soon as it's been back up that it cant go any farther (enough that you could get under it) go get a ghost and go off the tank like a ramp.

This is a very stressing trick, it will take a while but you'll know you have gotten in the sniping spot when you fly off the tank out beyond the boundaries of the level.

Now you can walk around the whole level and pop out whenever you want and snipe your friends and then pop back out so they cant hit you. (it looks like your flying and sometimes you can keep the ghost up there)

This isn't new! I know loadsa people who use the EXACT spot to get out of the level.

Heres a step by step: (Sidewinder, All vehicles and normal weapons)

[color=white]
* Get the scorpion tank and take it upto the raised edge area (where the rocket launcher is situated) The best one to do this is the side where you can see the blue base (the one WITHOUT the bridge)
* Drive it to the portal that you can go through, then back it up so the tank's turret is facing into the centre of the map (the raised area in the centre).
* Grab a ghost and take it upto the tank
* Drive the ghost as fast and as head on to the tank's turret as you can. [/color]

If you get this right then you should get both you AND the ghost out of the level.

The following are some suggestions of what this could be used for:
* Simply taking a sniper rifle up there for the ultimate advantage point
* An absolutely safe way of getting the flag to you're base (Must have tank already set up and a ghost nearby for this)
* (If you are REALLY cowardly) Use it to hide once you have the ball in Oddball
* Stealthy getting to the oppositions base (and entering using the upper level of the base) to take the flag

True, it isn't new, but it is still effective :). You can use this tactic to move to a hiding place that is technically still on the map.

Go to the area (after you've gotten off the map) between the bases where you have those two "skylights" for the tunnels between the bases. If you look down those, you will see a small ledge you can drop down too and hide. No one ever looks up there and if your friends say it isn't fair, you can always say that it is "technically" still part of the map hehe :).

Of course the only way to get out of there is to fall and die...or have a buddy park a warthog under you to break your fall.

Not only has this trick been done a long ass time ago, by me and many others, it is so easy. But to utilize it right, you have to be playing a ctf game. You, and your team, as the blue army go up on top that way, have one ghost block the warp that is behind the tank before you position it in place. This allows the warp to be a one way warp, you can go through to their ledge, but they can't go to yours, almost a sure way for your tank to not be moved, for future launching up out of the map. Then kill a guy coming to your base with a ghost, have another teamate take that, go through the bars in the tunnels, then take the invisibility and overshield, grab the red flag. Meanwhile, the guy on top with ghost, parks his ghost above the red base, walks down to the left of the antenna on top, and wait for the flag throw. The guy with the flag goes on the second level of the base, and tosses it to you. You get back in your ghost and fly off to score, or throw down to another team member. This cuts scoring times down by at least half the time. And the guy who captured, can remain at the enemies base for another.

Thats ancient, but still cool. My friends all hate vehicles (expept the good ones, a sign of a noob). If you can't handle enemy vehicles your a noob. Anyways the ghost + scorp=sniping mayhem.

thats the oldest trick in the book, nice try but everyones done the same thing, off the tank with a ghost, and off the level withpout texture.(everything is white up there, and grenades sink into the floor)

do it with a wathog, its funnier getting annoyed trying to get it up

You don't really need a tank to do that. You can go to the same spot (or very near it) with just a ghost, strafe to the right, and exit the ghost 5 meters or so away from the wall and jump--it will kick you up to the top of the level if done right. This can of course also be done in Blood Gulch in several places, one of which is to the right of the slanted/pointy rock on the right side (looking from red base, on red base's right side)--all you do is start strafing, roughly from the dirt road, over to the hill to the right of the slanted rock, get out about 5 or so meters before the wall, and jump at the end. This is a much easier way of doing the extended sniper rock trick, except you're doing it on the dark side of the map. You can get all the way to the top of the huge dark rock to the left of blue base (looking from blue base) simply by walking there once you're on top. You're high enough to snipe guys hiding inside their base.

i know an easier way

get a warthog and drive it up the hill that has the tunnel that connects blue side to red (the easiet way is to go through the way that goes into the mountain then drive up the ramp) once u get up to the small tunnel stop the warthog where the gun would be sitting next to the arc over the entrance into the tunnel (outside the tunnel) then jump on the gun, throw a plasma grenade on the gun and jump right before it explodes so u can get enough height to reach the small ledge on the arc, then wait til the sheild gets back up (I strongly suggest u have a sheild on the gametype your playing and at least 200% health) then when your up on the ledge you'll have to do the grenade jump again and then you'll be up!

you might have to take 2 or 3 trys but its pretty easy and the only reason why i just wanted to go up there is because i found out how to do an easier multiplayer version of the warthog jump... it went over the mountain and needed to get it back!!!


i also know how to get on top of Damnation too...!! but i have already seen some people do that on a video but i didnt see how they got up there...

if you want on top of damnation....put on 400 % health, throw a plasma grenade down and then jump just as it explodes and shoot a rocket at your feet....there is a certain part in the level to do this at but i don't have enough time to explain. you can do this trick to get ontop of alot of the levels at certain parts but you might need more than one player.
