Just been screaming with glee at the TandR level. On Legendary i've been trying to save all of my marines through the whole level, and manage it pretty damn well. I've worked something out, i'm sure others have too, and i want to tell people about it cos its just wicked.

On the level i snipe all enemies up to the point where you run through the narrow passage to the opening with the gravlift. At this point if you snipe all enemies (its a bugger) without your marines running in to "help" then move out into the open then Foehammer drops off another 5 marines. You and 10 marines versus the covies. Its a massacre. The ARs may not be accurate but the sheer number of ARs just mows everything down. i watched 5 marines gang up on an elite, the poor thing was shot to bits... Awww. You have to help em out quite a lot (duh) but its just so good, marines all over the place.

Anyways..

Have a quick question about this level, once you're on the ship what triggers Foehammer coming into the ship to drop off reinforcements?? It seems to happen randomly when i my marines have died. But i have been given reinforcements once when i still had marines (Johnsson) left. So whats the deal?

I think it may be based on how many covies you have killed. It's also based on your location, of course. Foe Hammer can't ALWAYS jump into the thick of the battle to drop off more marines. But if you kill enough covies, and the area is clear enough, Foe Hammer should drop off more marines.

I'm not sure, this is just a wild theory.

I'm trying to beat this level on Lgnd, myself. Not doing to well, actually.

Actually you can summon re-enforcements from Foehammer (on the ground before the ship) just by cloaking and running to the Gravlift. The marines won't catch up to you and Cortana will call in re-enforcements. The actual trigger is this: You @ Location; Check: Marines; If No marines = Re-enforce.

I think if you rush ahead to an area where you can be re-enforced you will get re-enforced, I have however never tried it except on the ground.

I've always wondered that. Anyone know?

If you don't have anymore marines, then FoeHammer will drop some off for you. I tested this, because in the big loading bay/launch bay/shuttle bay room on the ship TaR, I had one marine remaining, and was just standing around waiting for reinforcements (I had gotten them there before, so they should have been coming...) When none of them came, I just melee attacked the other marine to death, and as soon as he hit the dirt, FoeHammer dropped in.
