BAHha's Unofficial guide to teammates and other stuff.

This is still a work in progress so expect updates.

Let us begin. This guide is aimed at the campaign side of halo2 This guide is divided up into sections. First up is troop types and coolest thing ever seen.<-(Applicable). And second is weapons and last is combos.

COVENANT

TROOPS

Grunts: These guys are by far the weakest covenant race but make up for it in numbers. In battle these guys will stick close to stronger races for protection.

Coolest thing I've ever seen a Grunt do: do something useful in a battle and live to tell about it (any difficulty).

Jackals: Jackals normally travel in packs and overlap their wrist mounted sheilds they usually travel with Grunts. In battle they hold their position and hide behind their sheild and take potshots and nearby enemies and sometimes snipe.

Coolest thing I've seen a Jackal do: hold off three marines so a sniper could shoot them (Heroic).

Drones: Ugly little buggers who fly. They use this to their advantage to confuse enemies. In battle they grasp onto walls and shoot, they also travel in swarms of 4 or more.

Coolest thing I've seen a Drone do: board a worthog and take out the marine driver (easy).

Elites: Commanders of covenant forces and sworn protectors of the profets. In battle they use their sheilds to soak up damage, they will also give a morale boost to smaller units, consquently if one is killed the smaller units will scatter and run.

Coolest thing I've seen an Elite do: Hit a Brute (in the head) with a covie sniper from at least 100 yards (norma;).

Hunters: Basicly a walking tank with a huge laser gun and inpenetreble armour (Cdn/UK). In battle these guys will charge up their laser and fire in a stream. they are also very effective in close combat. their only weakness is their exposed skin.

Coolest thing I've seen a Hunter do: kill three Brutes with a single shot (easy).

Brutes: Large vuagely simian aliens that are very strong. In battle they will fight to the bitter end and won't hesitate to drop their weapon for close combat fighting.

Coolest thing I've seen a Brute do: kill a Hunter in close combat (normal).

WEAPONS

Plasma pistol: The sidearm of the covenant forces. light damage. Commonly weilded by Grunts and Jackals. Cool feature: Overcharge.

Plasma rifle: Pretty much an SMG for covenant forces. light damage with single and double shots. Commonly weilded by Elites. Cool feature: takes down sheilds fairly quick.

Brute Plasma rifle: same as above but more prone to overheating.

Needler: Rapid fire weapon that launches small needles. medium to high damage. Commonly weilded by Grunts and Elites. Cool feature: With more than 8 needles in an enemy comes a grenade-like explosion.

Carbine: A long barreled rifle that launches bolts of plasma. Light to medium damage. Commonly weilded by Elites and Brutes. Cool feature: scope

Energy sword: a glowing blade of energy. Very high damage. Commonly weilded by Elites. Cool feature: Lunge attack

Fuel Rod cannon: Basicly a covenant rocket launcher. very high damage. weilded sometimes by Grunts. Cool feature: Explosion kills multiple enemies

COMBOS

Close quarters.
Always equip at least one of your Elites (including yourself) with a plasma sword. Plasma rifles and needlers are also good. carbines and snipers are a no for close quarters.

Far quarters.
Carbines and snipers are good for far quarters and PRs (plasma rifles) and Needlers work as well. Swords are a no for far quarters.

Medium quarters.
Any weapon is good for medium quarters.

Vehicle combat.
When fighting against vehicles always try to board the vehicle and then kill the driver, get out of the vehicle and let an ally take it if you're feeling generous.

Anti-vehicle combat.
Fuel rod cannon or a turret will almost always do the trick. Small arms probably won't do much except annoy the driver

TROOP COMBOS

Grunts: Give these guys a PR or Fuel rod cannon and they should survive and help at the same time.

Jackals: Give them a Needler and they will kill all.

Elites: Usually leaving them with their own weapon is a good idea, but look above for tips on what to give to them for cetain situations.
