Subject: Forunner Theory

My thumbsticks will be your Doom.... sorry 'bout that.
My Stats

Yeah Bungie really plays up the whole inner feuds among the races thing. The Hunters, the Elites, Grunts and the Jackals and even the Brutes infact all Covie races, that we really know of except the coniving Prohpets, have a beef with one another.... hmmmm civil war sounding more and more likely....

343 GS made many different comments to MC in the Library. He asked why he had brought such a low level powersuit to combat the flood. As well as inferior weoponry. He did comment that the MC's suit has a filter and atmosphere presurrizer and that he was smart to have one since the Flood would soon be changing the atmoshpere. All forerunner technology seems to be adept for humans. The doors, lifts, everything seems to be made for human convience not to mention the atmosphere and enviroment is geared especially for humans. Also, since we know that Halo was used once before, we can assume that the Flood almost escaped in the past and so activating Halo killed off EVERY sentient life form in at least 25,000 light year distance. (It is unclear whether the other Halo's were fired but it is safe to assume they did), now 343 GS told MC at the beginning of Two Betrayals that when the reclaimer asked him he would do it... he claimed to have considerably time. So whoever the first reclaimer was it was someone looking like the MC...(not a spartan, simply a human or one in a vac suit of some kind), also in FS when Cortana re-enginneered the Covenant weapons, (weapons they stole from Forerunner technology), she was able to turn it in a more accurate and deadly weapon, showing that the Covenant don't know how to us the technology they find but yet we do??. The most concrete of all eveidence showing that humans are the ancestors of the forerunner is that towards the end of The Maw, 343 GS was copying Human history, he said that he finally had a record of all thier "Lost Time" and that he would enjoy every second of it's catorization. Personally, what I think happened was that after Halo was fired, the Forerunner were wiped out, and over (God's knows how much time), humans re-appeared in the Sol system, yet the Covenant did as well.) And I beleive we are talking about just the Milky Way galaxy since there is no reference to any galaxy outside and 343 GS says once the other Halo's would follow suit if they were activated that "This galaxy would be quite devoid of life." My two cents on the Forerunner theory

Achilles
great work.

wow good post!
Has anyone ever thought of that fact that the Spartans might create more super-spartans.
MC and Kelly mate and they have a baby. Now this spartan..who is born with super strengh..super reflexes and grows much larger than any normal Human Being.
Soon...there are Hundreds - Thousands and Millions of em....all in Green Armor
(poor Zuka Zamamee)
They are smarter - bigger and stronger than normal Human Beings.
Kelly was taken away by Dr. Halsey, maybe she is Pregnant, the MC could have been the donor or it could have been just old style mating Kelly and MC.
While all this is going on...there is work going on a New Better Armor for the Spartans.
Add that to:
* New Ship Reactors - Ones that need no Coolant and are more efficient
* Cortana's Slip Stream Space jumps - which are more pecise
* New MAC cannons -Ones that can fire 3 rounds back to back
plus a lot more.

Plus the Spartan III porject...wooohooo

quick comment about the Civil war stuff
Remember when Yayap pointed the plasma pistol at Zuka Zamamee's head and ordered him to take the Banshee.

A little Grunt pointed a Pistol at a Black - Clad Elite....
I agree with the Civil War theory. NOw that the Brute's (considered lower classes) are able to the Prophets...who also admire the Brute's strength.

The Basic Covenant Society structure is:
Prophets : Think Tanks
Elites: Muscle

one of the augmentations (forgot which) came with the side effect of "decreased -blam!- drive" so i don't think that theory is likely....

absolutley not, first of all the forunners are not space explorers. i think the prophets secretely know that they are not related to the covenant. in the flood, the MC finds a marine, when 343 GS sees it he calls the marine "a reclaimer"....hmmm a reclaimer of what. and when the Monitor sees the covenant he has no idea what they are. since 343 GS knows who the forunners are its safe to assume the covenant are not related to the forunners, and possibly the humans are. the forunners built the library to study and contain the flood, but i dont think the flood have had time to infect so many covenants and humans. as for the covenant leaving halo, i have no idea y they would do that, perhaps (if they're still alive which they most likely are) they're on another halo installation

First, the Forerunners had to be explorers at one point, and they were probably still exploring space until whatever happened to them happened. Second, when the hell does anything say the Forerunners are related to the Covenant??? The Covenant are there to aquire knowledge and gain technology (not to mention they're on a wild goose chase to find some holy artifact, which they think halo is), because they don't invent stuff, they learn and replicate. 343 GS calls humans "reclaimers" because 343 GS thinks the humans are there to activate Halo and wipe out the Flood. The flood are a parasitic life form that the Forerunners discovered. They built the Halos to contain and destroy the Flood if they ever got loose again. And I thought you were right about everything, Gandalf.
...as for the Forerunners being related to humans, there might be something there, although it seems kind of odd.

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

Ok, props to who brought up the fued b/w the Grunts and Jackals.(Spartan004). I forgot about that.... but I wonder just how far the feud goes since in "The Flood" Yayap got the Jackals he was leading to respect him and think of him as thier equal... an 'honorary jackal' if you will. We don't know how deep the feud with the Elites and Brutes go though. I assume deeper and with more justification. The Grunts/Jackals just think one is better than the other....no more than that. The Brutes/Elites could have more. Perhaps the Elites were the main head figures before the Brutes came along and they took thier place or most damaging of all, since pride is so prevalient with the Elites, maybe the Brutes replaced the Elites as the favored of the Prophets, (which would aslo explain the reasoning that in FS the high Prophet favored the Brute to the Elites), of course... this might also be a minority or half of the council who favor the Brutes. It would be quite interesting to see half of the council split and the Brutes take one side and the Elites another. The Grunts and Jackals...hmm not sure what side they would take. I would assume they would be against each other yet thier fued seems mendable...whereas if the Elite/Brute one is deep enough and Pride is envloved it would be impossible to mend.

Who would the hunters be against? The new covenant that we haven't heard about? I think there's something going on with the hunters, nothings has been said about them and in halo there wasn't much info about them and now that there are brutes I think the hunters would be replaced cause weren't the huntres the big muscile? I think if there is a civili war it'll be like this

Elite, Grunt, Hunter (and maybe new covenant) Vs. Prophet, Jackal, Brute (and maybe new covenant)

I think the team with the Brutes will win.

My Stats

Well the Brutes are considered lower in caste than the Elites. The Hunters are considered the big guns even though the sheer strength of a Brute could rip one apart and they also do not get along with any race and only listen to the Prophets, and when it suits them, to the Elites.

I've been working on a new theory off of my Time theory. The Elites finally figure out that the Prophets have no intention of bringing them or any of the other races (except the Engineers who are harmless and usefull and maybe the Brutes cause they are easily controlled(?)) into the space time freedom of existence (GodLike) that they attain with Forerunner artifacts. The Elites are ticked off by this and since the Hunters would be too, the two races start fighting the Brutes, Jackals and Grunts and most importantly the new covie reace we have yet to see. I guess this is called the Power Struggle Theory, or Covie Civil War Theory, both are kinda broad names to encompass all the poissibilities.

Yeah, civil war sounds really likely and so does all of Achilles, though one thing everyone is forgetting is in the covie primer (yes I know it was released a while ago) it says that the hunters could hardly stand the other races, and that if the brutes and elites duke it out the hunters might realise that it is their chance to get out of the covenant system and be like neutral fighters, killing both elites and brutes, cause in their point of view, killing both would make it so they would have no challenge in getting free from the covenant system.

Also the new covie species? Who would they side with? Where in the covenant system are they? How strong are they? Who do they fear? Who do they hate?

if the Grunts and Jackals duke it out...then the Elites are there to whack someone and put them in their place.
Now if the Elites and the Brutes go at it...there is no one to keep things under control but the Prophets. Now that I am thinking about it, it could go either way:
* possible civil war (because of the reason above)
* no Civil War (because the prophets still have a certain degree of control over the actions of both the Elites and the Brutes

Another possibility is (I think someone mentioned this): The part of the Elites could go renegade
