You also need to make sure that the rest of your system is up to specs in order to keep the video card happy.

OK maybe you people havent realized, but 99.99% of computers dont have a PCI-Express port.

The best card for 200$ or less is the Radeon 9800 Pro-

It is out of stock right now, but that is the best place to buy it.
Once you get it, it can easily be modded with software to a 9800XT. Just google it if you want to do it. Even Without mods, the 9800 Pro is more powerful than a 6600GT

Ok, you don't need to get the PCI-X version of this card. Just get the AGP-8x; providing that you have one. It would be best to confirm what kind of slot you have.

There is no AGP version of the 6600GT right now.
Some companies have said they are goign to release them, but a 9800 Pro still beats out a 6600GT.

and the 9800xt still beats that, we could go on all day, but the best card for an AGP 8x port is 6800 ultra from Winfast

Heyyo,

I bet the NV 6800 beats the ATI 9800 PRO, would would hope so since the NV 6800 is like, newer and hella more expensive, but let's try to stay ontopic boys... he needs an AFFORDABLE videocard.

I suggest a ATI Radeon 9600 PRO, good price, good card. You get your money's worth there man. ;)

I had an NV FX5600, and I was really upset with its preformance, NOT worth the money I spent onnit... the card DIED in Far Cry... could barely do anything when it's going at 5F/S. :P

If you can't afford a ATI Radeon 9600PRO? try to find a bargan bin card, a DX8 Card. Hey man, sure, not the newest pixel shaders n' junk, but still run new games pretty nice.

the ATI Radeon 8500 PRO was great, and so was the whole NV Geforce4 TI lineup. I think that was Nvidia's last truly stable card lineup... FX seems a little dodgy to me...

So yeah, I'm sure you can find a NV GF4 4200 TI for like, $120 at the most, so try to find that sucker, your comp will be able to handle it, you'll still get good graphics, and your framerate should be plenty stable. :)

HaloPC will still look awesome, the game was built for Pixel Shader v1.4, and you won't notice the difference between PS2.0 and PS1.4 unless you're uber technical, heck I even ain't yet for graphics. :P
