I thought that Socom had a great way of playing online. It had server rooms where you could go in. Once in, you could find rooms with different people who set up games. It was a great way. A friends list was something obsolete b/c you typically played with your clan members and they always had a certain room they were in. Like my group, ATF, was always in Central 8. I would go to that server, and then scroll down until I found a ATF room or a room where the ATF guys were. I found it really easy and simple.

Perfect Dark.

Best FPS... ever.

Halo 1 has better Multiplayer than Halo 2. Honestly, I know nobody (in real life) that likes H2 multiplayer better. I have a friend (LordofHope is his XBL gamertag) who used to think Halo 1 was a terrible game (he played H2 first), but then he went to a H1 LAN with us, and now he likes H1 better than H2.
After playing both, I actually prefer Halo 2 over Halo CE. Granted, they are both fun, I just prefer Halo 2 more. To each his own I suppose. You might not like Halo 2, but you have to admit that its multiplayer, the customization, the online Matchmaking, heck, even the postgame carnage report is still way ahead of anything that is out there.

Yes, it does have good customization, matchmaking, stats, graphics ect; but I'm concerned about gameplay. It's something that H2 lacks, and something that H1 excels at.
What exactly don't you like about it. Sorry to be intrusive, but half the posts that say "H2 multiplayer sucks" don't back it up ever. Is it the increased auto aim? Lack of the Halo CE pistol? Or do you hold halo CE on such a high pedestal that no other game can touch it, because it is perfection? Could you elaborate a bit?

i recently went back to play halo 1 and i notice you move alot differently and harder...also did anyone else notice that the magnum did more damage on halo 1??

GoldenEye

Nice choice.

I say also, Goldeneye, and, Perfect Dark.

Perfect Dark is, still, my favourite multiplayer game ever. It had such dynamic weapons and a high amount of custom options -- much more than Halo has ever had.

Goldeneye was the game that really got me into FPSs on computer consoles. An old classic.

Some of you talk so much nonsense. Keep it simple; some advice there.

RIP Halo 2.

It's a shame the N64 had such a hard time running Perfect Dark. That game and its features were way ahead of their time. A variety of bots, custom weapon sets, loads of gametypes, customizable team/player names, profiles, stat tracking, everything was just awesome.

I liked running around as Elvis against a million bots. My N64 didn't have problems running Perfect Dark, but nowadays, my N64 barely works at all. That is why I have a Wii.

RIP Halo 2.

Everyone's N64 suffered framerate problems with that game. Especially with lots of bots, splitscreen multiplayer, and any sort of explosive.

Yeah! RAWR!! 'Twas an awesome game. The solo missions were brilliant too. Enemies were smart, had a wide range of dialogue and, basically, the whole game was ingenious.

There were so many weapons. Remember the Laptop Gun? Throwing knives and mines in peoples faces was hilarious; it brings the feeling of nostalgia to me.

There were about 19 different bot personalities aswell. There is so much content in that game.

I had to reply to that.

EDIT: RAWWR! Remember fighting Maians with DK mode active. Hah! Funny stuff.

I guess ur right, i can't really remember the framerate issues, i just remember the sound having issues. Totally agree about the campaign though.

RIP Halo 2.

The Laptop Gun is probably my favorite FPS weapon of all time, right next to the Battle Rifle. It was the combination of it being a formidable SMG on its own and then the automated turret feature. There was such a simple joy in ebing able to run down a hall into a room while being chased, then stick the Laptop Gun above the entrance to the room and hide while it mauls whoever was chasing you. Good times, good times.

When I went to my college orientation, one of my friends brought his N64 and Perfect Dark with him. Our dorms didn't have TVs in them, so we waited for the rec room to clear out around 3 in the morning and hooked it up to that TV and just played until morning when we had lectures and stuff again. We wound up leaving the campus and walking around the city to get energy drinks and donuts to keep us awake. It was awesome.

RAWR! *Laughs*

I too don't remember having framerate problems. I do, however, remember first getting the game without the Exspansion Pak! ARGH! Hardly any content available without it! Bad times.

Note: Remember the Psychosis (I think that's the right name) Gun? You could turn enemies into allies on the solo game by shooting someone with it.

Perfect Dark was like 8 years ago. If the 360 version had been as good as the original, that game would have pwned.

RAWR!!!

You're bringing back memories now.

The Reaper was fun but inaccurate. The secondary function allowed you to grind players. 'Twas fun.

Remember SpeedSim with the 'Dark' difficulty setting? Whoa! *Laughs*

The 360 version sucked, didn't it?

Until I played R6V, which was a great game, I thought that any next gen game that didn't use a jump button/function was a POS. How is it gonna be next gen and not have a freakin' jump button. PDZ made my case for that, GoW strengthened my sentiment, but R6V, crushed it. Now, I am just ehhh. I would replay PDZ just to get achievement pts.

Hard Sim
Perfect Sim
Dark Sim
Peace Sim
Turtle Sim
Rocket Sim
Kazi Sim
Fist Sim
Predator Sim
Coward Sim
Justice Sim
Vengence Sim
Speed Sim
Turtle Sim

Don't speak about the 360 version here! That ruined it and Rare sucks now

Intensely. Biggest disappointment ever. They completely and thoroughly ruined the characters, plot, gameplay, and pretty much the entire franchise with that game.

I was so excited about PDZ.

Wasn't this all because Rare had split? One side remaining with Nintendo and the other half going to Microsoft?

Also, WTF Halocide, nice list of simulants! Not sure if they're all there though!

*Laughs*

PeaceSim, they ran around disarming anyone with a weapon and never killed! Eight Peace bots punching you in the face making your screen go fuzzy and dizzy-esque. Hilarious!

EDIT: Remember Mr.Blonde, the fastest character in the game?

Yeah. There was a trick you could do, which was to throw poison knives into a dead body. Whoever's corpse it was, would suffer dizziness as a consequence -- even though they were alive.

Remember the Tranquilizer Gun? What about the Dragon? You could throw that on the floor as a proximity mine -- people would think it was an actual weapon.

Then there was the RCP-120

And then there was the Slayer Rocket Launcher
