YES!!! It is very cool....I forget its on my head sometimes!! plus it looks cool...and it hass extra earpeices with it....some are cloth type and some are rubber....and different sizes too. Really worth 50 bucks.......it has really good voice cancelling and it is made by Plantronics (make headsets for moon missions and military)

Is the sound better on the HALO headset then on the regular headset?

I'm certifiable.

The Plantronics headset is wonderful. Much more comfortable than the stock communicator, much easier to hear, and the noise-cancelling on the mic makes me much easier to hear for other folks as well.

If your first try feels uncomfortable, remember that it's absurdly customisable. There's four different earpieces to try, plus the foam rubber "stop" you can put at the base of the rest if the headset tends to "droop" on you.

The only downside is, as Recon noted, that it doesn't come with a Communicator plug-in.

-- Steve's thinking of buying a 2nd communicator so that his guests can hear, too... but doesn't want to buy a second (stock) headset as well. Oh well.

Also, PLantronics have a long long histroy of making quality headsets for games and corporate customer service centres. They know how to make a headset.

I haven't got one yet but I will do once I have some cash.

I have searched and I cannot find anyone who sells the adapter as a stand-alone device. It is fast becoming an untapped market.

I rang microsoft - you cannot buy the communicator puck as a stand alone item :(

Aparently they won't let a third party make them either.
