So after 9 long months we were treated to another Bungie podcast and I personally was a little disappointed. I liked Luke Smith when he was working for 1up and always looked forward to the 1Up Yours podcast and was sorry to see him leave. But when I heard he was going to Bungie I thought about how great a podcast he could make with combined talents of he and Frankie.
Unfortunelty this podcast seemed to be disjointed and had very little behind the scenes information that I feel a developers podcast should have. Yeah, the majority of the bungie crew have witty personalites and there were many times I laughed throughout the cast, but if we're only going to get these 'periodically' (I'm hoping for more than once a year) than it should have more meat about the game THEY ARE WORKING ON. There are many podcasts talking about E-3 predictions and such, but a Bungie podcast has the opportunity to go past that and dig a little deeper into the behind-the-scences development of such a huge game. I'm not talking revealing plot stuff, or anything specific to the game, but more about what goes on in the studio which is more interesting to me than last nights play-test or who is the best Halo3 player in the studio.
I just think that good developer podcasts go past a 'watercooler discussion' of whatever is on their mind and try to think of what people who really interested in their game want to hear about.
I'm not really looking for feedback on this post (mostly just getting stuff off my mind), but if you have comments or a review of the podcast post below.
