Subject: Update won't update.

Title says it all. I signed in, and saw I needed to update. So I try, and it finishes, only to bring up the update menu again. So far, I've tried to update almost twenty times now, and it won't update. There any reason why this son of a gun won't update?

i had that same problem earlier...umm do u have a 360 or the original xbox?

  • 07.12.2007 5:43 PM PDT

360. And yes,I've read it several times, and it says 'update for this game' so it's not an XBOX LIVE system update.

ok well...what happened to me is that i had that same problem but then i took halo 2 out and played a different game for around 30min -1 hr. then when i popped halo 2 back in the disc tray and i tried it again, it worked. also, when you get the update screen, is the rest of the screen black?

  • 07.12.2007 5:48 PM PDT

Ok, I'll try that.

And yeah, the rest of the screen's black.

I did it like twice and then just declined the update and went to the game.

The one and only.

Why dont you try clearing the cache? Go to the system blade and then select memory. Then Press Y on the Hard Drive symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices? Hit yes and it should work. If you do this though you will have to download all your game updates again. So if you dont want to then dont try this.
