Subject: An Idea Bungie Should Try.

Firefox has a built in spell-checker. Granted, it gives you the little red squiggleys for the word "squiggleys" as well as for capitalizing "Bungie," but it certainly is helpful when you can't, for the life of you, remember how to spell "antidisestablishmentarianism."

Bungie listens to its fans! ^.^ | Ninja .II./ You
RCG: In ur base, steelin' ur flagz. | Watch the demo, then join the carnage!

Now that's a better response, weggie. Basically I don't like how people here in the Septagon dismiss any and all ideas out of hand (usually with reference to 'elitism'). I wanted to see discussion of a new idea for once... The idea does have some merit.

It may be a little complicated, and I suppose it would be a good idea to implement a spellchecker and see if that improves people's spelling before attempting to add a system like this. [:

And Rokit, you really used to mis-spell 9 words out of every 10? That's quite an achievement... ]:

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I got this Idea from a different forum

its to stop "certain" people from posting threads

Ok in this forum there's a smartness meter for your account on the forum. Everytime you make a post with no spelling errors you increase your meter if there's a spelling eror you lose some. you can't make any threads though till your meter is at a certain level. In my opinion it's a great idea it'll help the community and keep it free of not needed threads and "certain" users

Judging by your grammar and spelling errors your 'smartness meter' would probably never allow you to post on B.net again.

How did that make you feel?
Exactly.

Halo3Planet, the place for all things Halo 3..

Need help finding skulls, make sure to go here.

I think if Bungie were to include a spell check button on all of the posts, then yes, a meter might be implemented. I, for one, don't think there needs to be one, if you don't like the spelling of a thread, don't read it. You can usually get the gist of the OP by looking at the replies. It wouldn't make sense for Bungie to force people to spell everything correctly without giving them an actual spell check on the website. So, until Bungie decides to have a spell check for everyone on the website, then no, there won't and shouldn't be a spell check meter.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

There's a downloadable Internet spell check that also checks your posts on the forums. It's called ieSpell.

So what if, like yourself, you dont put commas and fullstops in the apropriate places. Does that decrease your score? LOL! Yeah i know my spelling is probably wrong somewhere, but hey!
