How about this: before the game launches into teamskirmishes or big team games you should get a 30 second window where your team can call talk and the screen displays a map of the level your about to play - each player get's a 'mouse' pointer with their icon and can move it around the map using a joystick (simple really) so people could get a little "I'll wait here - you guys take the warthog here" ect. We're not yet at a point where obvious spots in levels have names and I find myself wishing we had time for a 30 second pregame huddle.

In matchmaking it says "to go bungie.net if you have ideas for other gametypes". I can't find anywhere on this site however to leave such an idea besides here in the forum...

We must always fear evil men...
But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most
and that is the indifference...
of good men.

I like it, that would be real tight

I think the initial callout for weapons makes the game more exciting. Even though sometimes you end up killin your pards for weapons.. Which everyone with the rockets loves doing when they're about out. The pregame huddle will only make it longer to get in a game. Everyone that plays with buds, and have their teams get games fast. But what if people are randomly teamed and have nothing to say in those 30 some odd seconds....???

Bear in mind my favorite game type is big team action - team huddle would be an option you could select NO for.

Sometimes when heading into a Big Team game just as the countdown has begun and everyone can hear everyone else, someone from my team will start tellng the whole team (or more often someone on our team who is their buddy) "ok I'm gonna come around the outside with the Warthog just like last time" and the opposing team (headsets or no) is just sitting there watching the countdown listening to our strategy.

I like the callout system but for example despite calling the Ghost to open the Gate in Zanzibar for flag (which I'm darn good at) I still have to race to get to it (ghost) with random team mates who often take it with no sign that they're listening. With all the maps out there (and the killer walkthrough book) I wish I was able at times to go over a map with my team.

Maybe some website will develop a forum of this nature and store maps by gameplan name so we can load up jpgs of each level with big XXX's and OO's and lines (like football plays) type thing.

And in bigger games I noticed that sometimes people think that because there are so many people that nobody will miss them if they go do their own thing. Classic example:

In Headlong someone will say "ok everyone stay in the base and guard"
and someone inevitably says "yup ok I'm just gonna take out the warthogs here with the banshee" and in five seconds there is nobody to guard the base.

In any event: it's all good. Halo 2 is all that I hoped for.

Well yes its all fun in games and this game is the -blam!-! But the way i look at it is if your teamates aren;t talkin you should scratch this as either a tie or loss in your book.... If i start off and dont get that ghost then hmm lemmie snag the second or warthog no reason to cry. But i tell you one thing, without a sniper for that RL your not going tooo tooo far... plau the majority or the time i am playin with my good friends so our roles are mappped out.. Take some time with your made 4 or 5 and lock the room and work on -blam!-.. how they say practice makes (better)...
