Hey everyone, im back. I was watching RvB today and wanted to play Halo but I cant.

Anyway, I installed Halo and all that and when I went to run it the fatal error came up and such and said "A problen occured intiliazing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG." Well, I checked and my system indicates that Hardware acceleration is enabled, can anyone help me out?

Specs? This usually happens when your video card is bad.

Cant be, I played Halo when I got this video card: Its a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro. I bought it just to tie me down untill I get a new PC later this year.

EDIT: I tested some things and still, nothing is wrong...

Update your drivers, that is usually the problem if you have hardware that can run it.

Have you even tried going into DXDIAG and seeing if the Hardware Accelerator is disabled?. If it is, simply enable it. And another way that might work is to uninstall your current drivers for the 9600Pro, than install the default ones again, and see if the game works. Than d/l and install the latest version, and so on.

If you read my main paragraph for the topic I clearly stated that I went to dxdiag and DID see that Hardware Acceleration was enabled.

I havent had a problem with any other game... just Halo.

Yes and that didnt work, however... I got it working!

So silly of me to not realize there was a newer version of a driver for my card! Well I installed it and everything and now it works fine, thank you all for the help and answers!
