Why WOULD u use it? down is down and up is up, so why would you want it to be different
Because it's a controller, not a mouse. Also, it's how I grew up, my first shooter Turok had the inversion, so I grew with that. If I don't use inversion, I can't play a shooter game.

Ah Turok, a great grame also. It seems odd to me that more people who voted on this poll are default, yet way more people who POSTED on this poll are inverted.

Carrots.

Sorta. I played alot of inverted shooting games and was good with them, but I liked the option to switch to a normal set while I played.

But here's where it went a little weird. I played Conker: Live and Reloaded, and the whole game and multiplayer (Which rivals halo's multiplayer) is inverted. Then, when I went back to halo, I couldn't play normal anymore. It was stuck in my head, so now I play inverted in pretty much everything.

i played goldeneye when i was little, but since i havent played it in such a long time the look inversion felt weird. i changed it and kept on playing. besides, with most fps these days there is no inversion, so it's more practical.

When I was playing Halo CE where you decide on whether you want inverted or default I picked inverted by accident somehow (I was rushing through the tutorial) and I played on Inverted since.

every FPS and 3rdPS has the option to invert the look. I've never played one that hasn't

it's weird, I can't play inverted shooting games anymore, however if I play a pilot/flying game, it has to be inverted or i mess up, but I'm the only person I know whose brain works like that.

Im the same way.

Hmm, What it seems like is the younger kids (post N64) or kids who have never owned a N64 would be more Default controller setting. And the older kids, (around for Flight Sim., and Goldeneye, along with other great games, are used to inverted. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle, Specifically remembering asking for the N64 for my birthday when it just came out. Now I don't know the ages of everyone who voted, this is just an educated guess. I guess my inversion comes from Goldeneye. I did have this weird experience once though. My friend leaves his 360 at my house sometimes, because he doesn't have live anymore. I decided to play on the 360 due to faster loading times, AND I WAS HORRIBLE! The only way I could play normally was Default. It was the weirdest thing. That was the ONLY time I've EVER played default, and I went back to inverted when I switched back to my Xbox. Every other time I played on that system I was inverted. It was the weirdest thing.

On Goldeney and flight sims i can play inverted but on games like halo if its inverted i mess up its kinda wierd

Yes, I played so much Goldeneye and Perfect Dark (both of which were inverted by default) that I'm not capable of playing any other way.
Ahhh, yes I remember back in the old days when I was eight or nine I would play Perfect Dark with my dad, that must be where the inversion in me came from:) I CANNOT PLAY DEFAULT IN HALO.

Because nothing says father-son bonding quite like a Farsight XR20 shot to the grill.

I totally know what you mean though =)

I'm the same like that.

I use to use it with all the old FPS's I played..like Perfect Dark and Goldeneye, etc. since it was usually the only control option, as far as i remember.

Then I played Halo 2 for the first time and my friend kept bugging me to play regular. I switched and it felt natural just like inverted within an hour or 2. With how fast paced Halo is, I doubt my aim would be very good inverted.

In the end I guess I can really adjust to anything if I have to, but non-inverted just feels more simple, as far as aiming goes and where you want your crosshair to go.

.I personally use it. I read somewhere that it has something to do with how your brain works, but I think it's just how you played first..

Naw, it has nothing to do with your brain.

For the first year of XBL, I played with no inversion. But then a friend told me that inversion made you more accurate, and in a week I was playing with it inverted. Now, I can't switch back =)P

Southpaw, can you refresh me? Is that the one that is like, you move and turn with the left one, and strafe and look with the right one?

Depends. If it is the button settings, the L-trigger shoots and the R-trigger throws grenades.
If it is the thumbsticks, then yes.

I'm the latter. (Used to be both, but that made me worse!)

  • 07.14.2007 10:39 PM PDT

Haha, my sister uses that. The default is just so much easier to use IMO. The only real advantage I see is being able to turn and beat down a split second earlier. And it will make it easier to Br and snipe. Hum, I'll have to try it.

Very true man.

I play on a 7 sensitivity and somehow I can hop over people when they try to beat me down and assassinate them. It works about 50% the time (when I'm not lagging).

My friends realized this and instead of going in for the beat down to finish me off they back up and shoot me...buggers.
