It is true that it is hwo your brain works because if you were facing a controller thats not facing the way where your hands are then well when you press up on the controller it really is down.

Yes, I played so much Goldeneye and Perfect Dark (both of which were inverted by default) that I'm not capable of playing any other way.

I played legacy boxer inverted for a long time. But then before halo2 came out I switched to default boxer normal becase i wanted to take it serious. And if you think about it, it's a pretty easy concept that if the person is in that direction on the screen then you just flick your stick in their direction.

i use it, think of it this way, which way do you tilt your head? forward to look up? no. back to look down? no. also i played lots of flying sims and have a pilots licence. so non-inverted just seems wrong to me.

Halo 3 Midnight Party MEMBER

yes
ok think of it as this if you hold your head from the top/ hair and pull back u look up right and push to look down
just think of your head as thumb stick pull up push down

  • 07.15.2007 3:38 PM PDT

Heck no if i did i would pulldown and look up then pull up and look down. then get shot.

but if i played a lot of campaigne using it i would get used to it.

When the controller is upside down to you then up=up and down=down when it facing towards you up=down down=up So really your contoller thumb sticks are always inverted same with game play.

But really inversion is stupid and any game where they have it so you can only play it inverted instead of default is retarded.

i don't know of any that don't give you the option...not that they don't exist.

I use look inversion and the Legacy joysotick scheme as well. But Halo 2 is the only game I use either in. Look inversion because for some reason it feels natural to me and Legacy because I couldn't shake it from my Goldeneye days. I have tried changing but when I do it just doesn't feel like Halo to me anymore. Default joysticks also seem way to floaty for me.

Yes, sk8boardinlink's first "hot" topic.

I don't understand how people get started on these different thumb stick layouts. I mean, after you got the game it seems like you'd have to start messing around with the thumb sticks, and I just can't see anyone doing that. Odd.

RIP Halo 2.

I played Legacy on Halo 1 for a while. Eventually switched to standard after a year or so because it was easier to aim with. Took a lot of adjusting to. The reason I started with Legacy was for the same reason I use look inversion - lots and lots of time playing Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.

No personnally I dont use it but I know a few people that do

$x='print chr(36),"x=",chr(39),$x,chr(39),";\n",$x; ';
print chr(36),"x=",chr(39),$x,chr(39),";\n",$x;

I work at Microsoft. I have nothing to do with Halo and nothing I say is "the official word".

Some people seem to be confused as to why anyone would want to use inverted if not because they got used to it from another game,

Default: Up means up, down means down.
Inverted: Forward means lean forward, back means lean back.

Very nice. I have failed to think of it that way in the past. I like that way of thinking.
