I was just wondering, now that some people have had their expectations of Halo 2 a little too high, if anyone where disappointed or unsatisfied when Marathon 2: Durandal came out. Ofcorse someone must have liked games like Doom, Doom 2 etc. better. What I wanted to know is if there where as many that where disappointed at that time about Marathon 2: Durandal or Infinity as Halo 2 now??

Even though I like Halo better than Halo 2 I disagree with many of those who write topics about how much Halo 2 sucks or Bungie for that matter. If you're interested in my opinion I made a topic in new mombasa but anyways thanks for the reply...

Maybe too few around here anymore recall the reaction to Myth 2.

I'm gonna have to agree that, at the time it was a whole different mindset. Expectations also were not what they are now and there was hardly the hype machine that fuels heightened expectations kids have today. oh , and to answer the question no I don’t think that ANYONE was let down by Marathon 2, the less loyal may have been a little confused by infinity, do to all of the skipping around, but still a great game in any case. And actually I wasn’t disappointed by Halo 2 at all, and while the end was most likely a surprise for many, It was actually pretty in line with bungies style of storytelling.

I don't have anything against the ending but when I finished it on Heroic I felt kinda empty and disappointed. I didn't want to finish it over and over like I did every time I played Halo: CE...

my opinion about discussed with Spartan E2

I've never heard of anyone who was disappointed with M2. I think the only reason we have people angry about Halo 2 is that the fanbase is much, much bigger. When you have more people, more people aren't going to like the game. Especially when most of those people aren't loyal at all to the company, but like to call themselves fans anyway.

You're so right. I certainly aren't disappointed over Marathon but I haven't played Durandal or Infinity enough to have an opinion...

When I first saw the screenshots for Marathon 2, I was a bit disapointed. I thought that bungie had radically changed the game. Once I played it for a bit, I realised that the changes only made it better :)

Thats when I learned to trust bungie, as they know best when it comes to their games.

I trusted Bungie completely when I waited for Halo 2 but when it got out I just felt that I shouldn't have. That was quite depressing...
